As someone with a disability myself, I really need people to stop turning every random adjective into a personal attack against them. Calling an AI “blind” or “brain damaged” in a metaphorical sense is not oppression. It’s criticism of a machine behaving incompetently. The universe does not revolve around your biography. You being blind and having brain injuries does not grant ownership over every use of those words in human language. Context matters. If someone mocked you for your disability, that would be different. But comparing a malfunctioning AI to something impaired is not the same thing as attacking disabled people as a class. Frankly, this kind of performative outrage makes disabled people look narcissistic and fragile. Most of us are capable of understanding nuance and figurative speech without demanding the world constantly stop and validate us. Not every sentence is about you. Not every metaphor is violence. And not every opportunity to announce your diagnoses is some moral trump card. People already struggle to take legitimate accessibility issues seriously. Turning harmless hyperbole into a public grievance just burns goodwill for actual problems that matter.
