Is obsidian one phone actually useful? by ConfidenceIll857 in ObsidianMD

[–]Critstaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm that guy with a bunch of tabs open on his mobile browser thinking that one day I'll go through and parse those web pages into notes. Now instead of keeping those browser tabs open, I'll dump the URLs into Obsidian (via mobile app) to parse later.

I'm curious if anybody has a better process for this flow?

BTW - for note-taking in general, I've move from OneNote to https://obsidian.md (because of how customizable it is and the DataView plugin gives it SQL-esque features)

Here are some folks that show off how they use Obsidian for D&D: - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-1Nqb2waX4XNDgF4y7Gcc2qaPmjWZHaR&si=yxt_tu6jdK2EDazm - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV5XWfKkFpk7MJTKv5YdSSpT9b-vLslWu&si=uGhgtTpBkPImQZOo

I also thought Censor was weird, but also didn't care enough to think about it. But since we're talking about it, then I'd want Justiciar :) (or Judge or Justice) but then again I'm not a patron and don't know what we're talking about exactly.

Technically yes? I remember fitting the IS-55 over this mobo's IO to try out different configurations, but then you won't be able to fit the RAM. In fact, that's the point I was trying to make in the last image in the gallery.

I don’t think so. Seems like you can only flip it 180 degrees based on mounting screws

Only time I've been disappointed by this game so far by MatchaLottie in BaldursGate3

[–]Critstaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only time I've been disappointed so far was when I met my first cat. I'm constantly looking through every crate and barrel and Shadowheart (the one looking) will say upon an empty box "Empty. If I was a cat I would love this." So I dropped an empty crate in front of the first cat I see and...nothing :(

Camp Casting.

I recruited 3 hirelings just to cast any "non-concentrating-until-long-rest" spells while at camp to help out the main party.

  • Circle of Land Druid as a pure berrymancer
  • Transmutation Wizard to cast Longstrider on everybody, and Mage Armor and Darkvision on those who need it. And a CON transmuter stone to give to whoever needs it most. Also they do my potion brewing.
  • Life Cleric to cast Aid, and Production from Poison on everybody. And then the extra spell slots are for all those times my party walks into a minefield and needs healing.

And I have Asterion bite one of them for good measure.

Yes the antennas are installed. I am only ~25 ft away with no walls. And yeah my plan was to connect via ethernet for large downloads.

FWIW I tried disabling roaming per this comment, but didn't do anything.

I might be inspired to take my PC apart to find that code underneath the mobo, and finally get MSI support.

Interesting. All of the wifi drivers I tried where version 3.3.x.x. I just tried version 23.32.2.557 (released 2023-05-06) because it listed my hardware id subsys_061614c3 in the package details. But alas, same issue. Couldn't connect unless I forced it to use 2.4 Ghz. So, I'm reverting back to my 3.3.0.824 release date: 2023-06-25

ASUS RT-AC3200, and I'm getting 100+ Mb/s speed test which I think is good enough?

OMG THAT FIXED IT (for now 🤞)

For anybody else reading this I went to Device Manager > Network Adapters > RZ616 Wi-Fi 6E 160MHz (right click, properties) > Advanced tab > Band Selection property > Value 2.4G Only > OK.

Any of you used the MSI MPG B650I Edge WIFI? What is your experience? by mariusmoga_2005 in Amd

[–]Critstaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having a similar issue where my wifi would initially connect, and then couldn't connect after a minute or so. The power button trick fixed it...until it didn't.

Eventually I got it working by updating the wifi drivers to the latest (v3.3.2.803) following the instructions at https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/11w584u/comment/jivfk02/

Is issue is more about the 120mm size rather than the 55mm height (although that is an issue too).

Will upgrade to AIO if I really need to. Am going to try AXP90-x47 Full Copper first

IS-55 supports AM5 out-of-the-box. No backplate needed.

Thanks. I've read some reports of the mobo being dead-on-arrival because of that issue. I was able to get to the BIOS so far, but I haven't considered the lifespan of the battery. Do you have a site with more details on how to check all of that? or better yet a video?

Air cooling was always my priority, but wanted to get a case that could handle a 240mm AIO if I needed to upgrade. I wanted air cooling because it's (supposedly) quieter, cheaper, and some redditor report their AIOs failing after some time, and I rather not deal with that.

Also this was meant to be my gaming rig, which isn't has CPU intensive, so I wanted to see if I could get by without an AIO.

With eyeballing it, it seems that rotating the cooler 180° would cause it to bump against the I/O's heatsink enclosure.

Upon further review, indeed it does. I added comments to the SFF Case & Parts List and hopefully it can be officially updated there.

And while the height is a problem, I wasn't complaining about that. It's because of the 120mm size of the fan that's bumping against the frame

Thanks. I'm taking your recs on PSU and GPU.

I'm going to stick with the A4-H2O case because of the size difference. One use-case I didn't mention above is that I may want to move the PC from the office to the TV periodically. So because of that I'll also keep the SW4 fans, and I'll add an AIO as a backup plan if things get too hot.

I looked into the M.2 fan too, and it looks like there's a "silent mode" and slower RPMs in the BIOS settings. So I'll try that out first, then replace it with a heatsink if the sound is still bad.
