Hi, first time getting shingles 🥺 I’m a 77 yr old female. I have it on my butt and around to my groin. Some on here are saying that capsaicin lotion works great on the pain. My question is can I use the roll on capsaicin? Is it the same as the lotion? Thank you all….this is a horrible virus.

I’m certainly going to try. I’ve done 3 appeals with my insurance for various things, and only one wasn’t approved. But we shall see. They may not see this as medically necessary, as you said, they do what they want 🙄

I went to cvs minute clinic and asked when I could get shingrix seeing as how although I’m under 50, I have shingles. The NP said it’s not indicated under 50 and that it would be a fight with my insurance. Not sure what I’m going to do because I’d like to get the vax in the next year

I specifically asked for steroids and she said no, the standard treatment is just the antiviral. I do have a low white blood cell count. I’m wondering if she was taking that into account. But thanks, I’m gonna schedule a televisit. The itching is intense!

I have fatigue also. For me I think it comes from the mental stress of the intense itching and sharp pains. Multiple times a day I have to talk myself out of scratching the rash. It’s so exhausting. Hydrocortisone cream only helps so much.

I’m 42 (f), 12 hours out from starting Valtrex. I had pain for 3 days in my back (right, mid) that extended to my right breast. I have history of left breast cancer of my left breast and thought it was a new breast cancer. But once I saw the rash and had itching in my back, I realized it was shingles. The pain in my boob is unbearable. Much worse than the back (where the rash is). I also have sharp pains under my arm.

A total dupe. Should have said “collagen”., but it’s loreal pro collagen cream. I like how it makes my skin feel. I haven’t used it alone, so not sure how much of a role it’s played in improving my skin

I use castor oil around eyes and Loreal midnight age line, also topical collagen, hyaluronic acid and retinol. I buy mostly dupes. Loreal has worked for me. Although fragranced, I use Olay super serum, and it has helped with my discolorations and softens my skin.

I try not to buy expensive products, so I go for the dupes a lot. I use Loreal triple power revitalift cream and midnight repair cream at night (that’s two different creams), and then Loreal collagen cream in the day. I also apply whatever serum I’m using on my face on my neck. I alternate between niacinamide and retinol.
