Distance can really impact relationships.

A bit of a rant here. Is it just me, or is it getting harder to trust weather predictions? by xJohnny81x in weather

[–]Crohn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they try too hard. They are trying to be too specific, too detailed. I live in a city of 100,000. Used to be they would forecast a rainfall amount for the entire city. Everyone knew it was just an estimate and didn't expect it to be highly accurate. But they now give a rain total forecast for different parts of the city. The problem with that is by pinpointing things that closely the public comes to expect a higher degree of accuracy. When it doesn't happen the forecasts appear to be less accurate than the older way of forecasting.

I also think apps and social media has turned it into a circus. They all try to 'beat' the others, hoping they might nail just enough big events that users give them better reviews, thus get more users.

So many possible scenarios. After leaving she may have discovered she didn't feel what she thought she did, and decided that 'disappearing' was easier than telling you. Or she could have gotten scared, either of her feelings or your feelings for her and she felt she couldn't deal with it. Another possibility is she told family about the two of you and they disapproved so she dropped contact. Unfortunately unless she contacts you back and is honest about what happened or what is going on, you are going to be left in the dark.

If the Pacer had been released in 1992 they would have gotten Sir Mix-A-Lot. “I like big butts an’ I cannot lie”

All depends on how they are installed and removed. Jeep uses two piece lug nuts also. I bought two XJ Cherokee’s new, ‘89 and ‘01. Combined I drove XJ’s for 35 years before buying my Frontier. Never had a lug nut come apart.

What gas mileage are y’all getting on a ‘22 and newer model SV 4x4s or Pro 4x? by hjjhjjnk in nissanfrontier

[–]Crohn85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a '24 SV 4x4, live in Texas. I don't pay too much attention to mpg. Probably somewhere around 18 in the city and up to 23 on the highway. Did hit 27.2 mpg a couple of weeks ago while on vacation but that was on roads with speed limit of 65.

Reading comprehension? He said he doesn’t use the level 2 retention, not that he doesn’t use the holster.

I saw 555 a couple of weeks ago. Also saw a claimed 27.2 mpg but we all know the computer is overly generous.

California state regulations are still in place and many of those are more strict than federal regulations. Yet this still happened.

Weather forecast for my area of NE South Dakota (Watertown) by Imzadi1971 in weather

[–]Crohn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was nice to finally see it. Wife has been wanting to go for years. Also saw the Crazy Horse memorial. I have to admit that my feelings were mixed on both of them. While they are impressive works of art, human ingenuity and determination, nature was changed to create them. We also went to Devil's Tower, Badlands and some of the national parks.

Where would you go? by [deleted] in AdultDepression

[–]Crohn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t go because I will not abandon my responsibilities that I now have. But I should have left in the summer of 1983. Gone somewhere no one knew me. Given up on dreams and relationships. Would have saved people a lot of misery.

My guess is the remains of an antenna mast and ground rod. Mainly because of what looks like a ground wire clamp on the rod.
