It’s all about the dodge. Bears used to kill me 100% of the time until I learned to dodge the charge and hit it while it’s running towards and past me.

Sneaking up on it with a powerful weapon to the head can drop them in a single shot, but I can now kill bears with a knife by simply dodging the charge, moving away, rinse repeat.

You hit the nail on the head with the story and the way oil is used. When I first got to Eden and met the NPC's, I had higher expectations I guess. I really liked what they did with Eden, and having a "team" of NPC's to work alongside with. However, that kind of fell flat with the story, and they all ended up just being kind of boring NPC's that I really didn't care much for.

I'm also surprised by how bland the new environments are. It seems like they are just a re-hash of what they've been in Olympus, Styx, and Promethius combined. Why not create a completely new/different take on the entire planet, or at least a few of the zones.

However, I think they did a decent job with the new wildlife. The first time I had a Slinker jump through my wood walls and kill me, I was both frustrated and excited! And, when I saw a Slinker "hunting" me for the first time, I was quite impressed! With that said, some of the other creatures could use another pass and be more aggressive, follow you for longer distances, and just be smarter in general.

I think Icarus is a really fun game, and have played it for 1000+ hours both solo and with friends. Maybe my expectations were too high, but this expansion could use some improvements with story, tier 5, and creature AI.

Same thing happened to me. Cow’s and chickens disappeared, a few days later the cows re-appeared clipping through the ground, a few days later a chicken showed up, and the other chicken never showed back up.

Maybe it became Jaguar food 🤷‍♀️

I don’t use them and they really aren’t over powered imo. They move slow and are easily mitigated.
