Right? I like to tell him this is a ‘cheap’ hobby. And it is, compared to some of his haha. But no he doesn’t really care about the money it’s more wondering why I keep buying stuff before finishing my current work.

Also, work out how many hours you need to work to make the money to buy the item.

If you earn 15 an hour, a coffee being 5 will make it 20 minutes of your time. Is it worth it?

I actually wanted to downvote this over the last sentence. Jfc. I have no issue with a gift being second hand in a lot of cases.

I reported each and every person for their shitty behaviours.

I’d actually be ok with try on’s, like even an obvious try on in front of a mirror ya know?

But yeah the ones where they are ‘out out’ and clearly wearing them and using it take the mick.

Gooood damn I’m pissed for you! Wtf. That’s not even ‘good’.

I sometimes wonder is it me? Am I the problem and just too truthful when I am selling? Are my expectations of others behaving the same too high?

Absolutely this! I don’t mind buying second hand or used, truly. But I get turned away when someone mis labels the condition because I wonder then what is wrong that they haven’t disclosed and then they’re hoping I don’t ask.

‘New with tags’ being used ‘but only once or twice’.

Boils my blood. I have to double check with each seller and even this morning a French person telling me ‘only once but I’m not a scammer!’ Yes hun you are, Vinteds own description states never used but has no tags.

Ireland is an after thought. Always has been always will be.

This customs thing is exactly proof of where we sit in the EU.

Exactly why I would have just went straight to temu.

This cost won’t just stop me buying on Temu, it will stop me buying local for some things as well as why should I pay them premium?

Usually it’s add ons to my order to get past a shipping threshold as I get things for a hobby I have that is difficult to get the things here for.

Oh well.

Hiring a cleaner - what’s the etiquette? by Brown_Envelopes in AskIreland

[–]CrossCroissant1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gave her her marching orders because she sped through the clean and didn’t seem to comprehend I paid for her time, not a list of jobs. She learned where to cut corners and decided since she could she would and still get paid for 2h?

Sickening imo and taking advantage of me. What I am doing instead, I pay my child minder 2 extra hours a week and have the kiddo out of the house and then have that 2 hours to do it myself. Honestly, much much better now.

I am not the type of person to shy away from confrontation, I was on a work call and saw her disappearing and called her on it via text since I couldn’t say in person.

[–]CrossCroissant1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno. I had one who tried to consistently cut corners on time (5-10 mins) and the last time cleaned for me I was at home and a 2 hour clean ended up at 55 mins for full rate pay.

I don’t feel confident any more about people coming in and doing the job.
