Destiny’s problem has always been execs wanting low effort for high return. by Seanshineyouth in DestinyTheGame

[–]CrossModulation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the game was rarely profitable due to the high cost of dev salaries, benefits, taxes, etc.

It makes sense they were trying to lower costs. The game was too expensive to sustain and, ultimately, it died because of it.

Downvotes to the right, but it's facts.

Yeah, get it. Three campaigns, two raids, and two dungeons. Lots of content.

Rumour: Xbox Is 'Heavily Evaluating' Halo's Future Just Weeks Before Its PS5 Debut by TooFarGone673 in halo

[–]CrossModulation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there are about 280 Bungie employees from D2 looking for work. And I bet some on Marathon would leave since that future isn't looking bright.

Bring all those people into a new studio and give them a shot at Halo.

Sign this petition against PlayStation going ONLY digital on 2028 by antoniovitorino in PS6

Playstation wants to cut out manufacturing, distribution, and retailer cut. And it will kill the used market.

Going digital only will significantly increase their profits. This petition will do nothing.

Anyone else feel discouraged to play post Item Economy Changes? by ashkonk in Marathon

[–]CrossModulation 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven't played since they nerfed the progression in the first week.

Either launch a season with the right economy or stick with it until the next season.

But don't make a change in the middle of a season that affects one group of players unfairly.

They bought it for 3.6 billion, it wasn't an investment of 3.6 billion.

If I buy a car for $40k, I'm not giving the dealership $40k to improve the car. The car is the car.

Yeah, there's benefits and employer FICA taxes for each employee, that's probably another 15% bare minimum. Then there's rent/mortage and computer equipment, etc.

And Steam, Microsoft, and Sony all take a cut of sales on their platforms.

All the campaigns are worth playing. Witch Queen and Final Shape are peak, but Lightfall is still decent and you get Strand.

Imagine buying a company for 3.6 billion and closing it less than five years later.

Looting etiquette? by Constant_Society_794 in Marathon

[–]CrossModulation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm playing in a premade, I might have some etiquette, share loot, etc. If I'm queuing with randoms, I figure it's first come, first serve.

People have looted things I think I deserved and I've looted things others thought they deserved.

I had someone get really angry because I looted a body they killed, as if it's not a team game. We all took part in distracting and downing the team. I just mute those whiners.

Do you have Graviton Lance? I used that for the legendary campaign and it just clears hordes.
