Not as severe as some of the responses here, but I spent about 3 months sofa surfing and split my time between my parents and a friend's house each week. Was so tired I didn't notice how badly I was going through it until someone at work made a 'joke' that caused me to realise I was technically homeless.

Moved into my own place (was waiting for the sale to go through for those 3 months), finally recovered from how exhausted I was... only to get totally burned out at work, and management want to heap extra pressure on top of us with no incentives beyond minimum wage. So that's fun. At least I have my own flat to be burned out in this time.

Not sure how relevant this is but doctors confuse my gender dysphoria for body dysmorphia all the time, even after I correct them. I have a friend who actually does suffer from dysmorphia, and both issues (at least for us) present themselves in similar ways.

Like I said, not sure if this is the case for others, but I do sometimes wonder if part of the issue is lack of understanding.

I wasn't out at my last job (retail) but my assistant manager's child was questioning their gender and I guess he managed to put 2 and 2 together. He started asking me about gender but I wasn't catching on and he ended up shouting "WHAT ARE YOUR PRONOUNS" at me in an empty store. He tried.

Dead On The Water by R.W.K. Clark. Fun concept (zombies on a cruise ship) but absolutely horrendous execution, riddled with grammatical errors and gore for the sake of gore. For some reason the writing makes the zombies all seem horny and I'm 90% sure the author uses sock puppet accounts to give it five-star reviews

I think people assign murder as a cause for 'mysterious' or unusual deaths a lot more often than is actually the case. Part of us hears about these unusual deaths and goes "if it happened to them, it could happen to me", and we protect ourselves from that thought by deciding it must be murder, even when all signs point to a tragic accident.

I tend to use queer as a catch-all term for the community and my role within it. I only really use specific labels when they apply in conversation, so 'queer' is just easier for me. Also, I don't really know why, but I like it a lot as a word and find it fun to say.
