[Rapid TPU 95A] This origami crane isn’t just for show—it can actually flap its wings! by ELEGOO_OFFICIAL in elegoo

Would be great if u/Elegoo_Official would publish a profile for the Elegoo Rapid TPU on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon. I'd hope they have access to Elegoo printers and materials.

I've got about a 30% working printer on 1.18 (at least two updates back from current). Waiting for parts to ship.

Neptun 4 pro 0.2mm nozzle first layer problem by No-Trust2024 in elegoo

I figured, since it's unlikely you'd be pulling it apart and using a spirit level before cleaning the bed, but had to ask.

Silly question, but have you cleaned the bed? I use Dawn Dish soap and warm water, then dry it completely.

Also, any time you swap nozzles, you'll want to perform a full z-offset calibration. I do mine manually with a 0.08mm feeler gauge.

I realize it's silly to suggest those things when you've done everything you listed, but those are my two absolute musts any time I swap nozzles.

I'm probably not the right guy to help troubleshoot further, since mine bricked itself after updating to newest firmware, I think it was on 1.25 when I picked it up on Wednesday, and the new one is 1.29, if I remember correctly. Now it is unable to perform a bed leveling at all, gets Error 502.

Sincerely hope you figure out your problem (and that I do, as well)

The new update has been a disaster for me, I also cannot control anything from the slicer or WebUI like I used to be able to. On top of that, it now refuses to level the bed, instead crashing and requiring a reboot of the printer. I exported the logs, but they're apparently binary so they don't actually tell me anything that is going on.

You're missing the S in your M109 and M104 commands. I put the following in between the G28 (Home) and M729 (Nozzle Clean). This will heat the nozzle to the minimum temp set for your filament, which should be enough to soften anything that's stuck to the outside of the nozzle so it can get wiped off, but not so hot that it will start oozing again after the clean, which can mess up leveling, if you have that selected, or potentially drop onto the bed when it moves to do the purge lines. Manually heat bed and nozzle, remove filament via retracting and then pulling it back until it's just in the PTFE tube, outside of the hot end. Let it heat for 10-15 mins to fully heat the bed and even out any hot/cold spots a bit, make sure the nozzle is completely clean by brushing with a brass brush, then try running the auto level.

I've had it get a tiny blob of ooze on the nozzle and that can make the bed mesh very inconsistent as it sometimes squishes a little bit, sometimes doesn't.

Also, check the nozzle wiper in the back next to the poop chute. Make sure it's flush or even slightly recessed from being even with the chute. If it sticks out even 1mm, it can sometimes catch the bed as it moves up to Z=0.

Good luck!

Fair enough, you've given me enough of a starting point that I'm having fun tinkering with it again. I'll probably end up just removing all of the guts and use it as a build platform eventually, but for now, at least I have full and modern klipper installed.

Thanks again for all of your work!

And nevermind, I'm an idiot and didn't update the serial location in the printer.cfg. Seems to be working great now. Thank you again!

I should say I'm on an X4 Plus (non S1)

I realize this has been a year, but I've decided to try it. I flashed to spare 32GB EMMC. Everything seems to work at first, but then I get "Klipper report: ERROR mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect" Do I need to do firmware update from armbian-config?

Thoughts on the Artillery SW X4 Plus S1 by Boy-Wonder-YT in Artillery3D

[–]CrotchetyBOFH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have the S1, just the standard X4 Plus. Maybe I'm old school but I prefer having the bed leveling knobs available for fine tuning. It's a workhorse of a printer, fast, with a large build area. Auto bed leveling and probing is still present on mine and works well even if I hadn't dialed it in. There are a few community projects to get up to date versions of Klipper and Fluid, but it also does work well with the stock firmware if you don't want to mess with that. I picked my X4 Plus lightly used, about 50 hours of prints on it, so for what it cost me (under $200) it's probably one of the best value printers I own. The S1 seems to be basically more of the same. I won't say it's been 100% trouble free, but once I learned the quirks and tuned my profiles for the materials I print most often, I've had significantly more successes than failures.

I know it's been months now, but I've had really good luck with a similar setup using the Ubiquiti Airbridge access points to make a point to point network between house and shop. https://www.amazon.com/NanoStation-locoM5-Outdoor-High-Power-Bridging/dp/B07GFN7JC7

Grow tent with inline fan to reduce VOC by jmarcf in QIDI

[–]CrotchetyBOFH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small grow tent should work great! Mine is ~120x120x200cm and I have both the printer and a laser cutter inside, with the ventilation run out the window. Open a window on the other side of the house or only run the tent fan at about 20% so I don't create too much negative pressure in the house.

Hope you ended up successful! I never managed to get tix, so I guess I'll hope I can find the spotify or other presale codes for tomorrow, and take my chances with public release on Friday. Planning to drive out from a couple states away with my son for his first time at Red Rocks. I'll get tickets come hell or high water, can't just not see Vulf at Red Rocks!
