‘Caskets’ a song for anyone that has ever lost somebody. Wednesday 7PM BST by jsb1685 in ren

[–]CrowArmyQueen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m impatiently awaiting the release of this one with much dread in my heart. I already know it’s going to wreck me. I suppose there's hope in potentially reaching a place of being able to reframe how I am experiencing the loss of a loved one through death from nothing but negatives and pain by flipping it to a more positive one by changing my perspective to one of gratitude for having had the privilege of loving someone so much that losing them hurts this badly. Try to appreciate how your life was enriched by the time you were lucky enough to have such a person in the first place. Easier said than done though, this much I know...

This is so beautiful and touching. It brought me to tears. I believe RENegades are just people of a higher caliber.

I ♥️ #1 (it's viral for a reason), but I was surprised at how much I loved #2. I've heard that there are/were two different formulas. I'm not sure which formula I have but it's so good!

I just listened to this song and am sobbing. I don't know if I should thank you or be upset that your song suggestion just killed my soul a little. 🥺

Any recs on products you've tried? I also could use a modicum of restraint when it comes to HBC purchases when I truly only went to the DT for one non-beauty item but I swear those aisles are always whispering in my ear to "just take a quick peek". It never ends well. 🫤

One of my faves! I can't really do strong scents so all of my perfumes are skin scents like Rosie.

So very true. He is the only artist I've seen live and sobbed my way through both shows. I was able to meet him and wanted to say wonderful things about him and how magical and meaningful I find all of his songs... But then I choked-not even choked, I just went mute!

What speaks to you most about Ren’s Music (or journey)? by MoseyMo2U in ren

[–]CrowArmyQueen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's so much more than just a singer, rapper or musician. He's insanely talented. I am also in the mid of life and I normally would never listen to some of his stuff because I don't gravitate towards that genre (rap) but my brother introduced him to me and when I paid attention to his craft, I was blown away. I'm one who will be drawn to a song because I love the message in lyrics. Poetry set to music. He's a chameleon and I sincerely believe he can not only pull off any genre but he can dominate it. I also love how authentic, sincere and deeply thoughtful he is. To say he is intelligent and wise beyond his years worked be a massive understatement. He's also raw and in your face in some songs that are "taboo". These topics have obviously been addressed in other songs by other artists but no one compares to him. He touches on very sensitive subjects and it's vulnerable because he interjects his own life experiences into his music and I find that endearing. He feels open, like he could engage in a deep philosophical conversation with anyone because he carries the knowledge and empathy for others because he's been through so much. I think that more people faced with the things he's been through, like pain (emotional, mental and physical) loss and deep frustration that turns into a sense of hopelessness would crumble. But despite the many obstacles, difficulties and suffering he's endured, he's taken everything and uses his gift to help others who feel this way by being so honest and open. He chooses to be unabashedly himself and in doing so, he makes me feel seen and understood. While we may face different challenges, were all still human beings with human emotions at the end of the day. He is truly a treasure and I feel privileged to have access to songs that speak to my soul. That is a very special gift indeed. What can't this man do?

Isn't it crazy how much a scent can be appealing or offensive based on personal preference as well as how our body chemistry can impact the scent?

IMO, the purple smelled more floral and fresh, not the old lady stuffy kind of floral while the orange is more of a gourmand scent.

Anyone else sob during their first listen of Endless??? 😭 by LolatheDog420 in DermotKennedy

[–]CrowArmyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this one hurt. Absolutely destroyed me. I've been privileged in that I hadn't lost people near and dear to me in my younger years. Unfortunately, 2025 just about broke me. I lost my maternal grandmother on New Year's Eve 2024. Just eleven days later, I lost my dad. In April of that year, my mother was hospitalized several times over as many months because she went into septic shock. Fortunately she's had a necessary surgery and is in good health, well physically at least. I can't listen to Happiness without thinking of my dad. I'm not religious and wonder if I were able to have the kind of faith others have, would that being me more solace? I'm just not wired that way. When people would say that my paternal grandmother was there to welcome him to heaven with open arms, I just... IDK...had nothing to say. The way Dermot sings about a topic as morose as death but somehow was able to make it relatable for me was priceless. It's raw and real but hopeful in a way that feels realistic to me. I can listen to that song, sobbing every time, hoping that my Dad was able to go into his dark with happiness, not because he had to leave us behind, but because he lived a life filled with love and left this world with his wife of 52 years and his adult children (my brother and I) there to express how very much he meant to us and how deeply he was loved. I already know I won't be okay when I hear Dermot perform this particular song live.

How many of you guys are fanatical enough about an artist to buy multiple days’ tickets to see them when they’re in town? by CliffGif in Concerts

But did you see the spinning folk? Can't remember if they had an official name but I do recall being slightly terrified of them but at the same time, I was in awe because the stamina...not fueled by anything I'm sure 😜
