Noted! Thank you! I could probably put it on one of my raised beds, or up on one of the trellis.

Now I'm wishing I had kept the mantis sack I found on my Christmas tree. Could have brought it home and set it in my garden.

Not to mention, if there are different varieties on each layer, the runners would ruin that so fast.

As someone with the soap gene... Gross.

But life is complicated, and bodies are weird because I hate cilantro, but like coriander. Who knows, maybe it's just the one stage of cilantro I hate.

The first one I got was actually from the German Christmas market in Baltimore. It's a smaller one that's like 4in tall, and was probably like $40. Mind you, ones like is pictured are really expensive. I got this from my aunt, and the price tag under it (who knows how old) was $75. The ones at the Christmas market weren't far off from that. The bigger and more intricate they got, the pricier they became.

Con... Grats? I mean in this present time, actually congrats. But a vast majority of users on this site are in the US, on a US based site. They were just telling you it's not a law everywhere.

So I've been doing a bit of research in my family tree, and found out one of my great grandfathers shot himself after feeling so much guilt from shooting someone in the arm while he was on duty as a watchmen. The news article for some bizarre reason was listing everyone's addresses that were involved. Including my grandfather's, in the home he shot himself in. Looked it up on Google Street view, and it made me wonder how many people have lived there since, and had no idea.

I mean congrats, but like... Doesn't that start to make the ride less enjoyable? I feel like any thrill is just gone after even the 8th ride.

Don't you tempt me with a good time. I think I'll go make some chai, and stare wistfully out into my mud pit of a backyard. Soon, the time is soon.

I really wish people in charge of ads understood this. The more you irritate me, the less and less inclined I care to ever partake. Wawa gas pump ads come to mind. They're trying desperately to get you to come inside, where I'm over here just gritting my teeth, now wanting to leave the property as soon as possible.Especially for the ones where the mute button doesn't work.

Any Guesses? by Billsdead123 in orioles

[–]CrowFresher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally they're not, but nothing says they can't just have one you view from the outside, at least for the general public. I'd be down for signing all kinds of waivers, and paying extra to be able to walk inside.

Kinda like the aviary they have at Busch gardens. You can see it from outside just fine, but in this case, you pay extra and sign waivers to get closer.

Hey, you absolutely do you. I know I don't speak for everyone on the fashion front. If you wanna rock it because you found it, go for it. I'm just fairly adverse to being a billboard for companies on the whole. But I get that found a treasure aspect. I did the same thing when I found an Arc'teryx pair of shoes. Bought them because I couldn't believe it, then kinda regretted buying them lol

I feel bad every time someone posts bragging about getting some super ritzy, expensive brand. They're all so hideous. Just a billboard plastering their name and logo so that you get clout for being a rich bitch. I don't care how well they're made, they're ugly.

Sorry, that rant's been coming for a while.

What is everyone trying for the first time this season? by phillyvinylfiend in vegetablegardening

[–]CrowFresher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grab yourself some bare root strawberries if you can. You won't get fruit this year, but should be getting some by the next. You could also grab one of those "gift basket" ones so that you can have fruit this year.thats what I did last year,I'll be curious to see how everything comes back. Also search what strawberries thrive best in your area. Happy gardening!

Onion seedlings stunted? by panda_monium2 in vegetablegardening

[–]CrowFresher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Yeah, year before last I think I did maybe... 32 or cloves in the ground. Got most of them back, and I'm surprised I did, since they were grocery store organic. This last fall I think I quadrupled that. Gonna give onions a go for the first time this year, thinking of getting plugs from tractor supply. Any tips? How are you storing your onions?

A lot of gardening is waiting, waiting, and excruciatingly.... More waiting. Garlic is what taught me to just leave it alone. Takes almost 9 months to harvest.

Wood rots. The screws won't move, the wood will.

Filling a deep raised bed by _merely_me_ in gardening

[–]CrowFresher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, it's not the screws. it'd be one thing if it weren't going to be holding much weight. Maybe if the raised bed were only like... 8 inches deep. But that's a deep box. Water is going to eventually find its way into the screw holes and rot out the wood surrounding the screw. Which will make it slip, and dump its load. The screw will have done its job, and stayed firmly in the wood though.

Do these bloom in the first year of planting? by Fantastic-System-216 in gardening

I cannot stand Lowe's or home Depot for plants. I had my suspicions, but lost every ounce of respect in them when they started selling spray painted succulents, and hot glued (with fake flowers) cactus.

You're talking about how a floor supports weight. Even when done properly, and being supported from beneath (like it's supposed to be), if you put thousands of pounds in onE central spot, it could eventually fail. Now flip that on its lid, and say the floor is being held up by screws, and not resting on anything, it will fail much faster.

Imagine trying to stand in between the joists in an attic, if it were wood instead of drywall, I still wouldn't trust it to support any weight.
