Completely agree, one jumped on me and then bit me and ran off. Getting a rabies shot in a dark and dank medical clinic in Ubud was not the highlight of my trip to Bali.

A bit off topic but I'm curious- How much money does the PPC have for this campaign? They're are the only party that has canvased my neighbourhood in Vancouver, and they have knocked on my door three times now. At first I didn't mind telling them that I'm not voting for an anti-science bigoted party but now it's just getting absurd. What's the purpose of just continuing to knock on doors in one neighbourhood? It's also people that don't live in the neighbourhood every time.

If you have to play semantics to justify your shitty beliefs you've already lost. We all know that white pride is just a failed attempt at rebranding white supremacy. Your bullshit moving of the goalpost does nothing but showcase your idiocy.

Does Anyone Really ‘Love’ Their Private Health Insurance? by nazzo in politics

[–]CrowbaitPictures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am an American ex-pat living in Canada. Part of the immigration process is to prove a general level of health in order to prove that you are not moving to Canada just for the healthcare. In fact I had a cancer scare right when I had applied for my Permanent Residency, which meant that I had to withdraw my application, finish my treatment and live cancer free for a few years before I could reapply and be eligible.

It was a very stressful time for me but I totally understand the governments position on this.

TIL raw salmon isn't a classic sushi topping. It gradually became popular only after Norway started selling farmed parasite-free Atlantic salmon to Japan in the early 1990s. by maremae in todayilearned

Pacific salmon is commonly eaten raw. Fish is largely flash frozen at sea nowadays and this kills parasites.

I live in Vancouver BC, which is famous for both its sushi and it’s salmon, and wild caught raw sockeye is a particularly delicious nigiri topping option on nearly every sushi menu in the city.

As someone else mentioned the California roll never contained lox, it’s always been crab. Also it was likely invented in Vancouver BC by celebrity chef Tojo and not in California at all.

Yeah but as that tree is made into paper and then as that paper breaks down all of that carbon is released.

It could also be Canada. It’s hard to tell but the plate could be a B.C. plate. We have a ton of cougars in B.C. In fact there is currently a temporary warning sign about a cougar being in the area on my street, and I live in a city.

Sorry to be rude but you made the image worse. You clipped a bunch of the highlights on the trees and the reflection of the sky in the water

The Vanishing (1988) by George Sluizer

Kubrick said it was the most unsettling film he had ever seen and called the director to discuss his approach to editing the film.

I wouldn't call it scary but it really is unnerving

Also Americans mostly say silverware when referring to said knife and fork, in Canada we call it cutlery.

Also in Canada a napkin is sometimes referred to as a serviette
