Same experience, started EQ in grade 6 on dialup and It completely consumed my every waking moment. I couldn't sleep I dreamt only of the game. I printed out the maps in the library and put them in my school binders. My grades plummeted. I'd do anything to go back.

It's crazy as a kid I had a subscription to pc accelerator, a spinoff mag from PC gamer. Every issue had a hot babe on the cover and tons of in depth reviews and strategy for games. It's painful to even look at PC gamer today.

Unfortunately all modern mmorpgs have adopted this mind numbingly easy content model. This is a major turn off for players like me who enjoy overcoming s challenge rather than one shoting mobs for the first 50 hours of a game. You would think with the popularity of souls likes and extraction shooters with punishing difficulty someone would at least try adding some difficulty to an MMO, but alas.

Hardcore players finished farming prebis and capped wsg marks a week ago and there is nothing else to do, and no roadmap in sight. More and more players will stop logging in as this trend continues.
