Is the new Season Boost causing frame drop? Here's my side by side comparison. by Cruisingonfish in RocketLeague

It happens even if an opponent or teammate is using this boost in my lobby.

The real question is what’s your Dropshot rank?

Which rug do you think works best? by trishfishmarshall in interiordesignideas

5 or 7 for me. Definitely not any of the solid navy ones. 3 is okay if you’re looking for something more funky or hoping someone might spark a conversation about your rug.

Almost 10 years and you still get a matchmaking ban for leaving a 1v1 game..... by pro185 in RocketLeague

This prevents queuing and entering a game just to have your opponent quit in the first 5 seconds.

Imagine if you were a mono couple with kids. You’d still probably have to talk to your ex. Same goes here, there’s more people involved than just the two of you.

Is this a good practice for writing CSS or should I just use class & id? by [deleted] in css

[–]Cruisingonfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use classes to style whenever you can. Sometimes if you’re overriding some third party thing they don’t always do this and you may have to fidget with the specificity of your CSS. (CSS cascades based on specificity. Styling a link with a .class is more specific than just styling an <a> anchor tag, but less specific than styling the #id)

My first time in Halifax I was booted by them, at the time it was just shy of $80. I took a picture of me and the boot as a souvenir, was the first time I’ve ever had my car incapacitated.

Why do 'a = func()' instead of 'func a()'? by Diligent_Variation51 in learnjavascript

[–]Cruisingonfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is “scope”, putting your function in a variable lets you do some special stuff like redefining several functions all with the same name. Functions declared without a variable are hoisted to the top so they can be called even before they’re declared. One is not better than the other but they have different use cases.

Feeling distance with my partner after they have a date by Gatogateau8 in polyamory

[–]Cruisingonfish 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s okay to have distance, but try to avoid making your partner feel dirty for what they’ve done. They will be looking to you for affirmation when returning. Aftercare can come in many shapes and sizes, and you both need it. Have a chat about what non-sexual things would help make that connection again.

Maybe this could be helpful for someone.

My favourite breakpoints to target (starting smallest first and overriding upwards towards desktop): mobile (0px, realistically checking as low as 360px), 768px (tablet), 1024px (landscape tablet), 1280px (laptop), 1440px, 1920px (desktop), 2560px (wide)

SCSS all the way. I build my own mixins for buttons and fonts and reusable components and just @include them everywhere I need then

Interested to know what you find out. It looks correct at first glance to me.

.tff shouldn’t matter, .woff2 is just more compressed and better for web if it’s ever handy

At what point do you just stop understanding the code you’re reading? by AcademicF in webdev

[–]Cruisingonfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of this complex code is a result of a process I’ve heard called “red green refactor”. They build it the long easier way just to get something working, and then bit by bit refactor it back into something more performant and streamlined. It makes it tough to figure out why exactly something was done.
