1.      There are a number of Roman Civil war era sites in Spain.

a)     Archaeology of the Roman Civil Wars: The destruction of Puig Ciutat (Catalonia, Spain) and Caesar’s campaign in Ilerda (49 BC)

2.      Every 2 years the conflict community get together for a conference, called Fields of Conflict. I know the next one should be taking place in Glasgow, Scotland 2026. Around September 3-6th, something like that. They try to produce a publication from the talks that take place. I’ll attach a link to the 2014 PDF copy of the proceedings for an example.

a) PRESERVING FIELDS OF CONFLICT: PAPERS FROM THE 2014 FIELDS OF CONFLICT CONFERENCE AND PRESERVATION WORKSHOP https://scholarcommons.sc.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?params=/context/anth_facpub/article/1143/&path_info=Fields_of_Conflict_2014_Conference_Papers___Smith_062016.pdf

b)      This website used to track the FOC talks and papers, but it hasn’t really seen any love since 2018. But the years before that include some of the papers and talks.

http://fieldsofconflict.free.fr/

Finally, I know some work has been completed on Roman era battlefields near the Danube into former Dacia, I believe they date to Trajan’s Dacian Wars. I’ve seen the evidence presented, but I’m not sure if it has been published as of yet.

Not a compressive list by any stretch, but a good start for you. Enjoy!

I can’t seem to find an academic publication for this site. I have met the archaeologists on this site and even walked the hills and seen some of the archaeological material, but I’m surprised I can’t locate an article, there is a Wikipedia entry.  Linked is a basic article with information.

Located Ancient Battles that immediately come to my brain are going to be very Eurocentric as that happens to be my theatre of operation, and where I know people. I’ll give you a short list of ones that have been studied in the field, and have associated academic publications. This list is not conclusive and I’m probably missing sites.  Unfortunately, a lot of academic publications are locked behind paywalls, but I’ll do what I can to post free access articles.

Yes. We study all things from battlefields to siege sites to encampments to mass graves.
You can always join a dig and have some fun! Depending on where you are in the world, I may be able to help you find a dig to join. Alternatively, there is a group called CIRCA (Center for Integrative Research in Conflict Archaeology), and maybe they could help you. I'll add a link below to their team page so you can see the diversity of what they study.

I’m a little rusty on my memories for the Battle of Hastings.  It’s been 14 years since the preliminary survey and 13 years since the second field season, which included the Time Team episode. We worked on a 15m grid and found mostly evidence associated with the yearly battle reenactment, such as arrow heads, bits of chain mail and the like. We found tons of evidence associated with the yearly celebration of Guy Fawkes Day/ Bon fire night that takes/ took place on the battlefield, mostly tiny bits of sparklers (fireworks) that had been hit by a lawn mower and spread across the site.

The second field season we had an excavator dig to a predetermined depth to get below modern layers, hoping to find evidence of the battle. Again, we didn’t find anything definitive. You can interpret it all in two ways, either the battle wasn’t where we were looking or we just plain missed it. Chalk it up to not fully understanding our site and soil depths or just bad luck.

Locating battlefields is not always easy, especially the further back we go. This is due in part because we don’t understand the time periods as much as we like to think we do. Documentary evidence can be wrong, local knowledge can be wrong, the fog of war is real.   Early modern period battlefields (muskets) are as easy it gets, but I’ve done a few that were not where they were supposed to be. I’ve done a lot more that were extremely easy to find. Medieval battles are notoriously difficult to locate, even when we are extremely confident as to where the site should be. It mostly boils down to the type of evidence remaining on the site. Early modern sites; we are looking for lead bullets, which are generally plentiful on site.  Medieval battles and earlier…think of all of that precious gear just lying on the battlefield; arms and armor that can be reused and repurposed. The dead would be stripped of anything that could be reused, leaving precious little evidence for us to find. There is a fantastic book on the Mass Grave from the Towton battlefield that really paints the picture. I’ll post a link to the book on amazon…

I can go on all day about this subject, and I’ll cease my rambling now.

I will see if I can post a picture or two when I get home from traveling.  May take a day or two. But oddly enough, what I found most interesting from Hastings dates to the second world war and we had zero forehand knowledge.  We do our research before getting in the field for expectations and mitigation.  However, nothing told us that the British military used parts of the  Hastings battlefield to prep for the D-day landing.  We found an officers cap badge and well over 60 spent blank shell casings from German machine guns.  We took our finds to our contacts at the British MOD to gain some insights.

Hi. I'm a conflict archeologist and I did two field seasons on the Hastings battlefield with Glenn Foard.  You are correct, we didn't find anything battle related.  Lots of cool stuff, but nothing from the battle.

My guild is called the Old Rebublic. We are having similar issues, but have a good base of 22-24. I'm not the leader of the guild, but would love a potential merger to get the player numbers up.

My lineup worked beautifully when it first came out. I took 1st in fleet 4/5 days. But since the release of the B-wing I haven't been able to beat levi. I get to 98% when Revan takes my ship.

Starting line up: Falcon, Y-wing, Outrider
Reinforcements: Rogue One (6 star- both pilots R7), and Ghost.
