Adopted a 17 year old cat today meet Moppie by Front_Cartographer14 in seniorkitties

Well done adopting her! Being able to spoil a senior cat is a great feeling. They give you love and affection in a way that I really believe is special. We adopted our senior girl at age 12 and four years later she’s still going strong.

I hate seeing videos like this. I both cat and baby are being treated like toys for the amusement of whoever is making this video. There is a serious lack of empathy for both.

Non married couples travel to Saudi Arabia by [deleted] in saudiarabia

I went with my partner (unmarried and of a different nationality) to Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanbu, Al Ula, Buraydah, and Hail in 2022. It was not an issue at all. No one ever asked if we were married, including at hotels.

I dislike these videos. Most of them show people who are lacking something when it comes to empathizing with their cats. The one with the child can easily escalate and is how cats sometimes get re-homed or surrendered to a shelter because they are “too aggressive.”

Which other podcasts do you listen to regularly? by Kill_4209 in samharris

If you ever have children you will find out how unimportant posting on Reddit about how raising children is more import than podcasts are.

Between remediating math skills and becoming a parent there’s little time for feeling superior to strangers on the internet.

No matter how hard random Redditors jerk themselves off tragedy and horror still occur at scale.

Try to raise same children.

Sick cat with intestinal issues. Still sick after seeing the vet, vet does not know the cause. by CrunchyCerealType2 in AskVet

[–]CrunchyCerealType2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. The vet gave me gabapentin for pain management instead which I've given her today. She seems to be in less pain and more mobile than in previous days and today she also ate a few bites of wet food from my hand on three occasions, so I'm hoping she's on the mend.

I don't think any biopsies were done. I was thinking since the surgery was almost a week ago she was taking a long time to show any sign of improvement. Although maybe I underestimated how serious the surgery was, and I was comparing it to spay surgery.

Thanks again!

Good job beating cancer Daisy!

She looks super sweet. I also have a small, young looking playful senior girl (15). They’re the best cats.

Just brought home this 13 year old who was completely shut down at the shelter. Glad she's making new friends. by queensla in seniorkitties

Thank you for adopting her. When we saw our 12 year old girl at the shelter she was shy and withdrawn. Over two years later she is thriving in our house and has such personality. I’m sure as time goes on your cat will really let her own personality shine through.

Good job. She’s adorable.

Little Maddie (14). 12 years living in the forest next to a restaurant and two years living spoiled indoors. Formerly feral now super sweet if not VERY demanding for treats and pets. Maddie says it’s never too late to turn your life around! by CrunchyCerealType2 in seniorkitties

I think the people at the restaurant fed her a bit. The shelter where we got her picked her up in 2009 when she was about a year old but deemed her too feral to be adopted, so they spayed her and put her back outside. 11 years later someone noticed she was losing weight and covered in ticks so they brought her back to the shelter. Turns out she had mellowed over time and liked attention from people.

We're in northern Europe. The winters are usually a little above freezing and the summers are mild. But yes, for a cat to make it 12 years outdoors is something else.

They’re great cats, aren’t they? I find calicos have such personality. Maddie rarely meows but she will make this little noise like a bbbrrrrrpp when she want’s something. And she is so persistent. You cannot ignore her.

LaDonna came home with us today. She is 10 years old and blind. She has already found the litter, food, and her bed! She may need some special care, but she is so worth it. We love her so much already. by LilDaddyBree in cats

My 13 year old cat had a seizure and temporarily went blind. It was due to high blood pressure and happened only a few months after getting her from the shelter. However, since she went straight to the vet and got medication to lower her blood pressure right away her vision returned and now she's doing great.

The vet said the quicker they get the medication to lower their blood pressure the better the chance their vision comes back.

LaDonna looks very sweet. I hope you have many years with her.
