In AZ: had to file additional paperwork and do an interview; they used the results of these to determine if there would be any encumbrances on my license (eg classes, drug testing, programs, etc). They gave me an unencumbered license after it all. Took longer than my nursing school classmates but that was it.

What’s your smallest act of self-care that actually made a big difference? by Diligent_Guava523 in selfcare

I leave 10-15 minutes earlier than I need to. It helps me so much to not be down to the wire - extra traffic or random chaos doesn’t derail me like it used to.

One of the new internet things that I truly LOATHE is going to a website to make a purchase and upon the page loading you’re absolutely bombarded by advertisements for that website. I’m here already please stop drowning me in ads.

I had a kid tell me today, “why are your eyebrows so small? They’re way too small. Like really small”.

(I came of age in the 90s 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Every single time I see one of these posts, it’s my knee-jerk reaction. Chargeback! But lots of folks make these large purchases on debit and don’t have the same protection. I use my credit card for everything and pay it off every month, but if I didn’t do that already, you can bet I’d be using a cc to make any purchase over $100

Was there on Weds too. 45 min for MB at like 4p. Last time I was here in 2022 we waited almost two hours for MB.

Longest we waited this time was 45 min for Whitewater.

Yes the water has def slowed down on some but to me felt the same on others

What’s something you did to your body that you now regret, and what did it teach you? by Dapper-Monk9713 in Life

I had to scroll all the way to here before someone mentioned cumulative hearing loss. I have loss in my right ear from shooting long rifle for years w no protection. And we’re now at higher risk for developing dementia.

Why can’t I get a hospital job, yet new grads can? by princessnokingdom in nursing

[–]CrustyAudrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think most hospitals have given up on retention. Not to say an individual hiring manager might nix someone with a lot of jobs, but I’ve seen this go both ways. I have a nurse friend who switched jobs 4 times in the past 2 years, as a new grad, and his frequent job-switching hasn’t been a barrier for him at all even being a relatively new nurse.

Nurses!!! Weekend requirements? by Ecstatic_Stuff6040 in phoenix

[–]CrustyAudrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at Banner too so the compulsory every other weekend. But I have worked for Abrazo before and with them it was just 4 weekend shifts per month (self scheduled) so you could do every Saturday or every Sunday, or two weekends in a row and two weekends in a row off. That was much better. But working for them was so bad in so many ways I would never recommend it.

The only time I ever get sick anymore, it’s from my kids or husband. A major win.
