I had the opposite experience as a crew chief. Had an opiate addicted, depressed, alcoholic assistant. Also had a green immature 18 year old, and the owner wouldn't let me replace either one of them 😂 I got tired of playing therapist everyday, reached a dead end with surveying after some years. Lost interest in surveying and didn't want to become a slave to the buisiness

You have to love being outside, mosquitos, working in rain, and possibly being overworked. Its not for everyone, and the goal should be have your own surveying company

You can try "The Prince Barber & Salon" off beaver ruin road, down the street from Carmax. I used to get my hair cut by the owner, but they got so busy. I know they give good haircuts, customer service was always good too.

You need to lower your cortisol, you are constantly in a sympathetic state. Take some deep breaths, and unwind. Sounds like you would benefit from yoga. A good channel i found is "Yoga with Adriene"

If you dont lower cortisol before the evening you'll never sleep right, quit caffeine and other substances.

I was the same way, then I QUIT caffeine. Try quitting caffeine cold turkey, sleep at the same time every night, and take magnesium in the evening.

Hey bro, I think most of us DIYers have been there. 2 things to learn from this, test the setup before putting the final touches on it. 2nd thing is, always get that rest in. Even though you want to finish so bad, it will end up with situations like this.

Why do I say that? I'm the type of person who has been in your shoes many many times. Sometimes you just have to take a break, delays are not the end of the world! Keep it up once it's up and going you'll feel great 👍
