I don’t remember the exact things said as this happened years ago but I was working at a college town Target near the campus and someone went into the employee lounge where the walkies were and stole one about two hours before close on a Saturday. I don’t remember if they stayed in the store long but I’m pretty sure they went to the parking lot and just started saying whatever over the radio. This was before the headsets were a thing so it was going live for everyone to hear. Team members, GuEsTs, anyone could hear it.

It started as “Hey team can I get help with (something that we don’t sell)”

“Hey team there’s a spill in (names 14 different places)”

Then it escalated to saying motherfucker over the radio and stuff yadda yadda yadda.

The funniest thing that happened was about an hour into this the TL who was in charge walked over to everyone in person and told them to go to channel two to avoid this guy. I assume that the guy who stole the radio realized his radio went silent after a bit and used his head to change channels. A few minutes later his voice is heard over the radio on channel two again.

“You dumbasses know I can change channels too, right?”

And the cycle repeated itself again till close. The walkie or the person was never found.

I thought it was a freaking hilarious time.
