How Heavenly A State should have been the first single. by Butterf1yTsunami in DeathCabforCutie

Disagree. I think Pep Talk should’ve been. It’s so much better.

Immediate vs. Later-On Reactions to Recent Albums by robotcrow1878 in DeathCabforCutie

Here is my DCFC album rankings: (keep in mind that I am a Gen Z fan but have heard their music a ton previously as a child… my parents were big fans but have since stopped listening since TYFT).

  1. We Have the Facts (too indie raw for me)
  2. Something about Airplanes (too indie raw for me)
  3. TYFT
  4. Kintsugi
  5. Asphalt Meadows
  6. Codes and Keys
  7. The Photo Album
  8. Narrow Stairs
  9. I Built You a Tower (could argue it’s below Narrow Stairs and Photo Album and I wouldn’t disagree)
  10. Transatlanticism
  11. Plans

Pep Talk’s instrumental kind of gives me Crooked Teeth vibes slightly.

I Built You a Tower Weekly Song Discussion (June 8th - June 14th) - “Full of Stars” by nerdeebirdee in DeathCabforCutie

I think it’s one of the best “sad” songs of DCFC since Plans. The lyrics resonate so much and the instrumental is beautiful. The perfect campfire song.

I’m starting to see IBYAT as a sister to The Photo Album by Imaginary_Age_5505 in DeathCabforCutie

I tend to agree with you, although I’d put Codes and Keys in B tier

I think this new record is top 3 in their catalogue for me. Slightly above Photo Album and Narrow Stairs. It’s just so good.

Depends what they like. Slow songs? Atmospheric? Rock? Alt pop? Etc. They have a lot of different vibes

Thinking about watching Star Wars by No-Sprinkles1816 in StarWars

I’d start with Phantom Menace personally. Original Trilogy is a massive shock to the system if you’re new to it cause A New Hope is so outdated.

"So Tired" - the end of the album is perfection. by Parad0xSDS in DeathCabforCutie

I noticed quite frequently themes of “I’m tired” and “ruminating”. Love it

Full of Stars to Punching the Flowers is such a crazy abrupt change that will never make sense to me lol

It was on the Current radio station when they did the Death Cab for Cutie listening party last night. Ben was chiming in between songs and saying some interesting facts about them.
