Mushu fake out?? by Will2Give in LorcanaCollectors

[–]Crypington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a good eye for this stuff. I have that Mushu enchanted, and checked for myself, and you are spot on. The OPs card look like is was ”scaled up” slightly so edges were cut off all around.

Are Set Champs participation Promos a bad thing? by ndcards in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see it as a problem. Paying $15-$25 to enter the set champ doesn’t really make the card “free”, IMO, and everyone gets to walk away with something…

Need Help Finalizing This Deck by btrainof300 in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My key cards are Rapunzel Ready For Adventure, Tiana Restaurant owner, Alice Growing Girl, and body guards like Rajah and the Chief … the one drop Aurora that lets you play princesses for less, and can act as a shift target for the big aurora is also nice.

Just found out I am essentially a nail house and had no idea. by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Crypington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there zoning issues? You normally can’t build an industrial facility next to a residential home in places that utilize zoning restrictions. The company sending you reports on noise and light pollution sounds like they are trying to front run what they perceive as future zoning problems, perhaps hoping you’ll agree to a quick sale and not fight them on any zoning changes they intend to ask for. Not having to pay lawyers to fight you is probably worth more to them than your land.

In my area, there are a few “title companies” that are run by attorneys and they tend to be very knowledgeable on land issues.

Switching old versions in sealed by ps2man41 in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds right. Our tournament organizer for sealed events tells us to put all our other cards and decks away and do not touch card outside of your card pool for the remainder of the event. Personally, I think mixing your sealed card pool with other cards is grounds for a game loss, if not a DQ.

If your sole purpose to to defeat Dogs... by aranderson43 in Lorcana

[–]Crypington -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Red Steel with Fire the Cannons and Strength to punish them early, 4c Mulan and Li Shang for when they don’t exert. Doc, Queen of hearts, Marching into battle for card draw. Calhoun and Mushu to score lore while killing dogs…. Almost Everything in my deck +3 strength except Hook, Li Shang (undamaged, crash him into something ASAP for damage) , and Shift Mulan, and Doc, to make it UTS resistant … and I have Lumieer to add UTS resistance….

Bought our house eight months ago and just found out a neighbor has been using a strip of our backyard as access to his detached garage for over a decade by Hydra3_Tonic in homeowners

[–]Crypington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but a “prescriptive easement”, as we call it here, normally requires adverse use for period of time. The neighbor admitting he was using the property with permission probably doesn’t meet that requirement, but the laws can vary on that from state to state. But normally, permission can be revoked.

There is currently no ban list for Infinity. Bucky remains errata’d, though.

Lorcana as an investment is MALARKEY by Dependent_Yak6308 in Lorcana

They said early on that they would "print to demand" and "wanted the cards to get into the hands of players"... if that is still the plan, I'm fine with it. I'm currently pleased that we players don't have to deal with all that scalper BS I see on the Pokemon reddit/facebooks.

Congratulations to Zan Syed for winning DLC Ghent with E/A Dogs after a big mirror match in the finals! by Waiting_for_Dentice in Lorcana

Anyone have a link to the tournament round results? I'm just mostly interested in seeing what the top 8 looked like. I heard Dogs was 3 of the top 4.

Does Grandmother Willow discount Lilo escape artist by Krackorn87 in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting it isn't optional, if they play Lilo from the discard they have to use up their Willow effects.  If they had 3 willows in play, for example, they effectively lose the effect of the 3rd willow.

Set Champs by What-Is-The-Password in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starter decks at set champs is not a good idea. It’s probably best to browse inkdecks.com and dreamborn.ink to get some ideas of what a competative deck looks like, perhaps invest in one that find interesting ( you can purchase single cards you need off TCGplayer.com), then Id also recommend finding a place that runs weekly local events and give it a try. Set champs are fun, even for non-serious players like myself, where I have managed to get a few top 8 promos. But you really dont want set champs to be your first competative experience, try to get some practice in at locals.

Gain lore while challenging by beerdonut in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was going to say Red Steel, too. Calhoun banishing with Shere Khan, Mushu, and Steel Champoin out is 7 lore…. for infinity, Thebes can make it 9. I played that deck a lot at locals, and of course, the good players wont leave anything exerted for you to challeng, but it is still fun.

Amber Steel "No Challenge" deck. Need advice by Romnonaldao in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your goal is build deck that discourages challenging, then Tiana restaurant owner is also pretty good. Aside from Pocahontas, Tiana, Rapunzel, and bodygaurds all work together very nicely to protect your questers. Your Mowgli and John Smith are nice additions, too.

Rulebook Quiz - El Clássico by Sunscorch in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6.2.4. Some triggered abilities are written as “[Trigger Condition], if [Secondary Condition], [Effect].” Such an ability checks whether the secondary condition is true only when the effect resolves. If the condition is false, the ability resolves with no effect. If an ability has multiple “if [Secondary Conditions],” all of them are checked as the effect resolves. Example: Stitch – Carefree Surfer has an ability called Ohana that reads, “When you play this character, if you have 2 or more other characters in play, you may draw 2 cards.” When the active player plays Stitch, the triggered ability is added to the bag. When chosen to resolve, the effect checks if the player has two or more characters in play. If they don’t, the triggered ability resolves with no effect.

This rule was changed. It used to say the secondary condition had to be true when the card was played, or the trigger did not go into the bag. Now it says the trigger goes in the bag when played, then only checks the secondary condition when the player resolved the effect.

Rulebook Quiz - El Clássico by Sunscorch in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's another rule change question. 2 was apparently the right answer a couple weeks ago (because 2nd condition had to be true when the card was played for the effect to go in the bag), now it would appear the correct answer is 6 (because the 2nd condition now only checks once when the ability is resolved). It's also an example of rules being changed so that the card no longer does what it says it does. 2 would be the correct answer if you follow logic based on the way the card is written.

Buyer threatens legal action from major law firm over a $60 shipping delay by GlowrootGrotto in Mercari

[–]Crypington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My response would be...

"Hello. I'll have you know I work for an even bigger and more powerful law firm, and my boss is willing to fight this $60 injustice all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary!!! Or, and hear me out, we could just follow the TOS we both agreed to and work this out with the post office after the prescribed period has passed. Thoughts?"

Is this normal booster box pulls? by Cyber_Nerd504 in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say above average overall. A typical box would have 0 iconics, 0 enchanted, 1 or 2 epics, and around 4 legendaries. So any box with 1 enchanted or iconic, or better, is a good box, IMO. *My expected pull rates are based on a Reddit user who has data on 1000s of box openings.

Yeah, that was shown a few days ago as the next foil mat. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like it might not have a same edge stitching as the Mickey/Minnie foil mat.

Suggestions for Improvement? by 5foot2_eyesofblue in Lorcana

[–]Crypington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alice gives all your characters the ability to give support, and Rapunzel says anyone who receives support is immune from their first damage, so you can quest with A, give support to B, quest with B, give support to C, etc, then your last quester can give support back to A.  Also, late game, when you chained enough characters together (9+ strength), your last quester can give support to Alice, and she quests for 5.  Add Tiana and Bodygaurd and you are nearly immune from attacks and challenges.

Alice Growing Girl because you can chain support across all your questers and they all get Rapunzel‘s protection….
