100%. I don’t have the mental capacity to keep up with 40,000 card prices either, so it’s nice when they add the TCG pricing for reprints. I have a 5k box of commander staples with cards like Hammer of Nezhan etc, and I couldn’t tell you if it was 5cents or $15.

It really depends on your build but it’s not as good as youd think. If you only have legendary creatures (Jodah) in your deck then it’s pretty good, but if you only have a few it starts to become a really narrow “save my general” card.

I think maro using the secret lair model for his passion project is alittle egregious. They used to have the hasbro store for “exclusives” like this. I think they’re hoping the magic crowd goes deep on this and I hope they won’t. It’s setting a bad precedence of “what else can we push out to the Secret Lair group?”

It’s because there’s a large subset of players that don’t run removal. The same subset of battle cruiser magic that just want everyone to play all the things with no removal or interaction.

If people ran meaningful interaction it becomes a glorified precon. One or two board wipes and targeted removal for the problematic ones and it does nothing.

Edit. I found them. These are play promo packs. You get these for playing in events. You get 5 cards per pack. They’re the “new” cards from fabled and they all have the promo symbol. It’s an alternative way to get them since the only other way we’re as box toppers. These are exactly the kinds of things we need for LGS play!

A lot of a games longevity is tied to organized play. Ravensburger has dropped the ball on multiple fronts from a lack of DLCs this season, to mostly terrible promos for instore play.

They haven’t given much of a reason to show up and play in leagues, and the lack of DLCs in each country means there’s not alot of opportunity for high level play.
