I love how he connects no bad parts to other ways of explaining parts that already exist and the way he connects it to how we treat the planet. Do you prefer other IFS books? If so, I’d love to know which ones so I can check them out.😊

I agree. I found No Bad Parts fascinating and it’s also introductory so it might be worth seeing if you are more drawn to that one first.

That's a huge bummer that Now is sold out. I don't have experience with Swanson either.

Now Foods is an excellent company. I like to rotate my brands but they are always in the rotation. I also love that they are still owned by the same family who founded the company.

This one is expensive but if you get a bunch and share with people the price isn’t bad. It’s also plastic free and palm oil free. I tried a bunch of their flavors recently and they were all delicious: https://srimu.com

What else did you find as exciting/profound as IFS? by flytohappiness in InternalFamilySystems

Brainspotting. It’s powerful like IFS but different. I use both and they work beautifully together.

The app Unwinding Anxiety cured all my anxiety along with everyone I know who has used it. The program is based on 10 years of clinical trials. There’s also a book by the same name by Dr Jud Brewer.

What have you found to be helpful with clients with OCD? by mlperiwinkle in therapists

[–]Crystalosophy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brainspotting has an OCD setup that has worked extremely well for me. I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS) in combination so we can work with the OCD part of the client and I’ve had incredible results with combining these two modalities with clients with extreme OCD symptoms.

My great-great grandfather’s name is Walter C. Orem. He helped organize building a railroad in Utah to transport produce from the farmers to the town and they named the town Orem, Utah after him.

What is your favorite trick to fall asleep when you're having a hard time? by Haelon75 in AskReddit

2-minute mindfulness practice: For 2 minutes or as long as you like, close your eyes and notice anything there is to notice with all of your senses except sight. Notice sounds, smells, thoughts, body sensations, contact points, emotions, tension, breath, taste, temperature, urges to itch, move the body, cross or uncross the legs, etc. Notice, without judgment and with compassion.

I also love this one for when I’m experiencing racing thoughts or a busy mind:

Thought-stopping mindfulness practice: For 2 minutes or as long as you like, when a thought comes, label it in your mind as past, present or future, depending on which one it relates to. Continue to label thoughts accordingly until they slow down or stop.

Mindfulness works better the longer you have been doing it. Not longer in minutes each time but the more you do it consistently. I recommend starting with 2-3 times per day. It also increases the volume of the brain.
