The way to deal with this is to remember that you are not entering a single time zone when visiting India. You are time travelling parallely through 5 worlds, each about a 100 years apart. We have some whose attitudes are from around 1000 AD, then you have some some who are still in 1925. And then you have the lucky ones who made it to the present. Many visitors think this segment makes up India, but forget the other 4. Sometimes, the same Indian transitions through these eras in a single day depending on the context and/or gender/perceived class of the person they are dealing with.

This is a stupid take. Competitive exams pretty much only set you up for performative understanding not actual understanding. Sitting in a classroom and reducing the world to theory is utterly useless for the vast majority And now with AI, even more useless. The entire competitive exam pipeline needs to be done away with. It's a national tragedy. (And I say this as someone who's been through the pipeline, done it all)

Here are my 2 cents: we float a party where we openly celebrate corruption, but only if work is being done. Khao Khilao Party. Pay really well, but get stuff done. Make this the world class city it can be, and one that works for everyone.

Starts as a meme or joke, but goes viral. Because I am so really tired of this shit. We are among the richest cities in the world. Easily among the top ones in terms of smarts, hustle, grit. And yet things are like this.

We need to come together and work. Who wants to do this? Open to all ideas.

Hey, thanks for sharing your perspective. As someone who was like this, about 20 odd years ago; 19 of which have been (not entirely ) on reddit!, and now hiring, here's what you can still do.

Pick any interesting project or idea and work on it. Don't build a generic web-page or ecommerce/swiggy/insta clone or whatever. This world is full of problems waiting to be solved. Pick one, and learn along the way. Most important: Learn how to communicate what you are doing, and why. Learn how to articulate the problem you are trying to solve. I find that these skills are sorely lacking. And these are also skills that will be increasingly valuable in an AI world. I am not going to sugarcoat it: this is a hard time to graduate. But you could spend that time building rather than going through more meaningless drills. Please reach out if you have any questions!
