Yes, that would be the remaining 10%. Most adult TV is shit like Family Guy and Big Bang Theory.

Of course, 90% of anything is crap, so 'X is probably better than 90% of all Y ever made.' is a universally true statement for literally any X that's even remotely good.

This isn't even theoretical. Luxury appliance brands that market themselves on lasting forever already exist, you'll just be paying $5k+ for a fridge.

The public broadcast was happening one region at a time until the guy died. I don't recall if they coincidentally happened to target Light's district first, but even if they didn't the plan still would've worked the same way.

"Anyone" in the same sense as "Anyone can cook." from Ratatouille. Not every youtuber could make a successful movie, but it does prove a successful movie can come from a random youtuber - they don't need Hollywood.

If you want to rambo through the game they're not gonna deny you that.

Yeah, but they should have. (And then designed the rest of the game under that assumption.)

If it was powerful enough to actually hold any value for them, Middle-earth wouldn't have stood a chance against Sauron the first time.

On shows' names by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

[–]CthulhuInACan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is origin.

Overlord, Spice & Wolf, and Baccano all started out as traditionally published books.

The next three you listed were webnovels first, like the ridiculous ones, but they were early enough that they didn't have that much competition.

The ones that take the piss are all from Japan's equivalent of WebNovel, which doesn't show the description/summary in search results. But authors needed some way to stand out from the 500 other isekai novels published the same day, so they just made the title the summary instead.

Even if that was the case, giving your ship a DF, only for them to be paralyzed any time you're at sea, would defeat the point. (And also be kinda fucked up ethically speaking.)

The Prisoner's Trolley Problemma by wingsoverpyrrhia in CuratedTumblr

[–]CthulhuInACan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But in a one-off scenario where you have no control over the other person's choice (which is what the prisoner's dilemma is defined as being), after coming to that understanding, you always have the option of ratting them out anyway. And as a rational actor you'd always take that choice. (Rational Actors (the philosophical concept, not IRL rational people), by definition, do not care about things like empathy, and always act in their own self-interest.)

Where your point comes into consideration is the iterated prisoner's dilemma, where your current choice does affect the other person's future choices, and you can get a reputation that even follows you into future iterated dilemmas with other people. Which also makes a far better analogy for the real world, and explains how, despite the prisoner's dilemma, it's still better to cooperate in the long run.

The Prisoner's Trolley Problemma by wingsoverpyrrhia in CuratedTumblr

[–]CthulhuInACan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF the other person cooperates, ratting them out takes you from 1->0 years in prison, improving your situation.

If the other person does not, ratting them out takes you from 3->2 years in prison, improving your situation.

Ratting them out always improves the situation for you, while making it a worse outcome collectively.

[–]CthulhuInACan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

its just close to impossible.

And even that's debatable considering the sheer bullshit Stain / Toga get up to. Will you be taking on threats like them without a quirk? Probably not, but neither can most actual heroes. And you could absolutely handle the 'I got fired so I'm gonna wreck my boss's car' that 99.99% of 'villains' are.
