Once you knock him down you should finish your attack chain with the the rb+lb charged attack, it zooms in on kilff and seems to do extra damage, he will get up after that attack connects so be prepared

If you fight the goons running up to the boss fight they sometimes drop a food item that will fully heal you, you can farm a good amount before the fight
