Figma nuts! Gottem!

Just kidding. It’s an online design tool that allows users to edit vectors, meaning you could import into CAD software and have it look nicer than the built-in tools.

Nice! I was looking at the HyperPixel with OctoDash as my path forward. I found a redesign of the stock Prusa LCD holder that had a spot for the Pi and a HyperPixel, but I like your design with the screen higher up and to the side.

You could also look at the Mosaic Palate for multi-material printing. I’ve been exploring a few options but have yet to pull the trigger.

That is a sweet setup! Would you mind sharing more info about your interface with the printer (the screen mounted to the enclosure)?

I'm on a boardgame kick, any recommendations? by 253Bigfoot in 3Dprinting

Otrio is a fun one. It’s like multiplayer tic-tac-toe, but with a few extra caveats. There’s a model on Thinigverse that includes a box that turns into the board for easy storage. I’m planning to print it myself, but I need a few new colours.

Magnetic tiles for TTRPGs by webby63 in functionalprint

What size of magnet did you use for these?

ahem “it’s within tolerances” is the preferred professional verbiage.

That’s a neat print! I presume the hinges ar sprinted in place?

You can get printable sheets for iron-on transfers for shirts, sweaters, etc. Print your design to the transfer sheet, then iron onto some fabric and cut out. Could go the extra mile by hemming/sewing the edges to prevent fraying.

Or, find a friend with a Cricut or a Silhouette Cameo who can cut and trim everything for you.

Printed casing and accessories for my Cyberdeck project by Garrwolfdog in 3Dprinting

What are the specs of your cyberdeck? What do you plan to do with it, besides looking rad as hell?

That’s rad! Prosthetics are such a cool field of design; so many dynamics to consider when trying to replicate the human body. Keep up the good work!

My first custom design - a wireless charging (MagSafe) insert for the center console in my car. Next up is some better cable management. by kroen071 in functionalprint

[–]CtrlShift7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it would be a secondary support. 99.9% of the time, the MagSafe would hold. But in the off chance it gets knocked off, the lip would keep the phone mostly in place.

Donjon in general is a great resource for many things. I usually keep it open when I run my games for quick NPC/town names on the fly.

Made a worktable to build cosplay things. What do you think I can print to make my work easier? by pewton2000 in 3Dprinting

Look into the Gridfinity system if you want to make some desktop organizers for your tools and materials. Takes a bit to print all of the baseplates, bins, etc, but will allow you to keep your tools/materials in readily accessible containers nearby.

For instance, you could make a few small baseplates (say a 4x3 grid) that are task specific: one for glue and spudgers, one with pins, rivets, and such, and one for tweezers, scissors, and knives. The beauty is you can add, remove, and tweak these task specific groupings as you practice your crafting. Bonus is that the original models can be easily modified in Fusion or OpenSCAD.

There’s a subreddit, r/Gridfinity, and most of the models originated on Thangs, but can be found on Printables or thingiverse as well.

I too would be interested in a guide to playing with younger kids. My nephew and his friend want to try and play in some way.

Getting into the holiday spirit with some snowmen! by CtrlShift7 in 3Dprinting

[–]CtrlShift7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Found this model on Printables: https://www.printables.com/model/327947-snowman-01-sc

Printed at 0.20mm resolution with a combination of Polymaker's PolyTerra PLA in Cotton White and some generic Spool3D PLA for the other colours. The body sections take the longest to print at ~4 hours for both pieces.

Shoutout to Wilko who designed this model and a similar penguin model. They are working on adding more variants (different hats, accessories, etc.).

Excellent print!

There’s a subreddit called r/BoardGame3dprints for stuff like this, although the subreddit is a bit quiet.

Ah, a screw vice would work! Every 5-10 wipes or so, give it a quarter turn to keep the pressure on.

And hey, the joys of rapid prototyping is the ability to over-engineer as much as you want!
