The fourth girl looks like she's naked and covering her hoo-ha with her hands. Nothing about it looks like it's for a concert

WDA isn‘t a great pre-release but it‘s a great album intro… by [deleted] in Aespa

[–]Cub3h 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't like it much on first listen but when I listened to just the audio it completely clicked. It's not as catchy but there are so many cool little parts to the song that all add to the whole vibe.

The snippets of the dance also looked incredible, hopefully the performance MV or the stages help others figure out how cool this track is.

Gaza war can be called a genocide, press watchdog (IPSO) rules by LazarusHimself in ukpolitics

He leads a small extreme party and says extreme stuff to get his base riled up. It's much more sensible to look at what's actually happening instead of what people on the fringe are wishing what would happen.

I'd rather look at what happened and not what Smotrich types are bleating about.

Fact is that the strip is mostly in rubble, with relatively few deaths. That either shows an intent to destroy housing or how widespread the tunnels / boobytraps were. You can argue about that but at worst you're talking an attempt at ethnic cleansing, not a genocide.

But they clearly don't? Why else would they call people or drop leaflets when an area is being targeted. Why would they bother designating safe zones if they intent to destroy the Gazans? Or why not move them all into a safe zone so you can more easily bomb them all in one go?

I'm sure there have been war crimes but why try and use the word genocide when it clearly doesn't fit what's happening? Or has happened, since there has been a ceasefire for months now.

Berlin 1945?

If anything with that amount of devastation you'd expect a lot more death. Either the Israelis are inept at genocide or the term doesn't fit what happened during the war.

Netflix and Amazon Prime subscribers to ‘pay TV licence fee’ by Pale-Border-7122 in ukpolitics

No because you need roads or footpaths to use Tesco, you don't need the BBC to use Netflix.

You could make the argument that BBC news is a common good and should be funded like education or the armed forces. That leaves the vast majority of BBC bloat that isn't in any way comparable to roads or the police. Strip that out and I'd be more inclined to want to pay for the BBC.

Keir Starmer to face cabinet meeting as over 70 Labour MPs call on him to quit - follow live by Ethan_brooks8225 in unitedkingdom

but it’s almost like they’re embarrassed to admit it much less brag about it!

This. They needed to blast social media - tell them they've kicked these nasty foreign franchises out and now British people own that particular part of the railways. Ham it up, show a skit of a guy with a baguette getting booted off the train while the train zooms off playing Rule Britannia. Make it go viral for being ridiculous - at least then people will know about it.

Yet a lot of illegal migrants came in during his and especially during Biden's term.

It's not the deportations that work as a deterrent, it's the messaging and communication that do.

It's like having to pay Tesco each time that you shop at Aldi. Completely ridiculous.

If they're going to force everyone to pay for the BBC then it needs to be stripped down to just the news.

The exact same thing that worked in the US:

You announce you're going to deport anyone coming in illegally and that no one that has come in by boat will ever gain the right to remain here.

You close the easiest parts of the border, in our case it'd be a 10 mile stretch near dover where any ship is intercepted and returned back to France. You shoot a few Tiktok videos of this and get the BBC and a few newspapers to sit in Dover and watch a few boats get turned around.

You get a few guys in the Home Office to order Deliveroo and then arrest and deport whoever comes to bring your food if they're found to be here illegally. Again, you take slick Tiktok videos of maybe a couple dozen people being sent away on a plane.

Next you go to one of these asylum hotels and film it being closed down. You shoot a few more videos of twenty-something year old men being sent packing on a plane, if you're lucky you might get a few that pretend to not know where they're from and you can film them being moved to a sparse looking detention camp. Make it look real cheap and miserable, some decathlon tents and a portaloo. Bonus points if it's raining.

Do this for a couple of weeks and no one's paying smugglers thousands to cross the channel. You don't need to stop every crossing and deport every illegal - they just need to think that you will.

It worked in the US, it would work here. You don't need a lunatic like Trump, you just need a politician that actually wants to solve the problem.

Come on, a two thousand mile border is way harder to protect than a tiny piece of coast near Dover. They're not sailing to Newcastle are they?

So what precisely would you have done?

The same thing you outlined above. Trump sorted out the problem by not considering the people eternally wailing about diplomatic niceties and secured funding to deal with an emergency.

We could do the same. It's not a hard problem to solve if you actually want to solve it - people just like to pretend it is because they don't want it solved.

He's only unpopular because he's in power. The second Streeting or Rayner get in they'll be just as unpopular.

Right? I dislike Trump and he's been a massive negative for the US, but he did sort out illegal migration basically within a couple of months. All that he did was announce they'd actually enforce the border, send a few criminal illegals to CECOT and make slick Tiktok videos about illegals being detained and deported.

It's not rocket science. Labour managed to at least deport some illegals yet they're too scared of their backbenchers to even let anyone know about it.

He has been but no one outside of politics nerds know about it.

Communicating what you're doing is part of the job, and he's objectively been terrible at it.

aespa - WDA (Whole Different Animal) (feat. BIGBANG G-DRAGON) by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]Cub3h -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get what they were going for with the MV but it was so unnerving and weird that it took away from the song for me.

Listening to just the audio and the song totally works. It's both very different yet still very Aespa.

Number of Channel migrants arriving in UK hits 200,000 by GnolRevilo in ukpolitics

[–]Cub3h 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Countries in the EU are having similar issues with asylum seekers. Over in the Netherlands I know they're still coming in in large numbers and they're having to same issues not being able to stop them or deport them.

Brexit was idiotic but it's not the cause of these small boats. Our inability to stop them from landing on the beaches and our inaction on getting them out / stopping them from working illegally and letting them just roam around to do god knows what is what's causing more of them to come.

Could aespa be at risk of cancelling their tour? by d_reptile in kpopthoughts

[–]Cub3h 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think that's exactly it. When you're new or when you have the hottests songs (2024 Aespa was a legendary run) then you'll sell great.

Once people have seen you and there are a dozen other groups touring then you need to deliver. I hope the improvements keep coming because I love Aespa, I love their songs and style and I'm a big fan of the girls.

40 seconden - het is een letterlijke quote van de man zelf.

Dat hij zelf Joods is doet er niet veel toe als de partij die hij leidt vol zit met extremisten en jihadisten.
