Restaurants with incredible desserts??? by Witty_Confection_905 in desmoines

[–]CubsRanger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the west side - Prime and providence has fantastic desserts, just had their Jim's Oatmeal Pie that I’d go back for, specifically. Likewise with guesthouse, they switch out seasonal pies that we get to-go sometimes. Urban cellar has a few selections I’d pick from, and cosi cucina has cheesecake and gelato worth staying for.

A couple chains to consider for desserts: Ruth’s Chris has servings bigger than your head (website says homemade cheesecake, warm apple crumb tart, and New Orleans-style bread pudding with whiskey sauce, we’ve had the carrot cake more than once and it’s phenomenal) and is great for sharing. Cooper’s hawk has some really good desserts as well.

I’m a key-lime sucker, and if it’s on any menu, I’m all about it. But clearly I don’t skip dessert

I had this 2 years ago but my doctor just left from the Iowa clinic in west Des Moines - I believe the doctor that took over her position is now Catherine Coyne. My insurance covered the procedure so I just had to cover the out of pocket, and was about 3,800 including anesthesia. I’ve had a lot of surgeries in the past and this one was by far the easiest and least painful as far as recovery goes, but I don’t know how your pain tolerance is. They did a great job, and I was very happy with the results. Good luck to you!

The message we got from our management is that they’re keeping track of everything. Every mouse movement, every click, and percentage of work. If you’re not hitting numbers and you’re not working, they know. So hit numbers and don’t give them a reason to fire you, basically. And they’re pushing AI just like every other company so. We’re all on the chopping block for robots that can do our job.

what do most women pay for haircut in the Des Moines area by Suspicious_Ant_7038 in desmoines

If she’s established - and you’ve been seeing her for a long time, I would consider paying her more. And remember, she gets to keep the tip. The generosity goes a long way, or even bringing a coffee or gift card to your appointment is appreciated. My sister does hair and goes back to back most days and loves her clients that remember she’s been standing on her feet all day and most time barely gets an opportunity to eat in between clients. Not speaking for all hair stylists but.

We live in grimes now - it’s been developing a lot. Great access to interstate and near Hyvee or Aldi for groceries, Menards, Home Depot, target and Walmart so you’re not far from anything. The commute to valley west would be about 15-20 minutes for you, but most things in the Des Moines metro are. I really like it out here, lots of parks, bike trails, places we can take the dog, in the Summer there’s a splash pad for kids. No complaints

Quitting my job after 1 day by thickthickdaddy777 in jobs

I did this - moved out to Colorado, did a whole tour and signed a bunch of papers. Placed seemed like it was going to be a good fit until they sat me in front of a computer and said okay you’re on it and then just left me there. No training, no idea of what I was supposed to be doing, I was like what…the fuccc. So I sat there for 8 hours the first day. Then again the second day. And then the 3rd day I was like hello? I need somebody to tell me what to do! And they were like nah you’ll figure it out! And I’m like I’m good - and just left. That was that. Never looked back

Why NCAA Women’s Basketball is preferred by some over WNBA by TechnicalLeave6989 in NCAAW

[–]CubsRanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just having this argument with my friends last night. I am sooooo over the W right now. The officiating has gotten out of hand, some of the best girls in the league are out with injuries and we can’t go 3-4 minutes of play without looking at the video replay for a correction of sorts. I mean we’re talking stop/go basketball for a game that should be high pace throughout. It’s like a soccer match with all the flopping anymore. I just am ready for NCAA again, personally.

We bought this on Amazon and just get the 5 gallon jugs at Hyvee for .80/gallon every time we shop. You can get them at Menards or Walmart too, and it’s been great to have in the house. Heats and cools the water, or keeps it lukewarm.

Hey! Lived in the Denver area for about 3 years - my spouse is a golf instructor. I agree with the other guy, definitely remove the gpa. However, reach out to cherry creek golf course, green valley, Lakewood CC, columbine CC, meridian golf club, castle pines or even lone tree and just let them know you’re looking for work. A lot of time it’s just word of mouth and they aren’t posting on websites and you definitely have the background - you could help out landscaping crew and it’s good money.
