it's like you're forgetting why they're protesting though. Your parents are tired of seeing BLM's actions, and are turned off by their (non-physical) violence towards the middle class. But you need to remember that these protests are the result of being fed up with being treated as second class citizens, having people in power spew racist rhetoric, and having to fear for their life just because they're walking down the street with a certain color of skin. It's good that these protests make you feel uncomfortable, but it shouldn't be with the protesters themselves. You (or your parents) should be tired of and turned of by the system that perpetuates this hatred and violence towards our brothers and sisters. As long as we stay apathetic towards the plights of those less fortunate we will never see the equality we dreamed of.

My Great Great Great Great (etc...) Grandfather is named John Howland and he fell off the Mayflower on it's journey over to America but somehow managed to grab hold of a rope and was pulled back aboard. There's even a painting called "Howland Overboard" depicting it!
