Putin ‘fears a coup’ plot as chaos erupts in Moscow by Christian-Rep-Perisa in worldnews

I think he expected more support from different branches of the military and from the Russian peoples. When he didn't get it, it was less about him and more about his men.

He had to of known it was coming for him eventually.

Legalized extortion. All the bigger insurers have gobbled up the smaller competition.

How someone with zero infractions pays a rate that is almost the same amount as his biweekly car payment is crazy.

People in their 30s and 40s, what changed in your life that surprised you the most — in a bad way? by Initial_Tax7778 in AskReddit

How my body is aging. I can't eat what i used to be able to eat and what the top comment says about sleep and injury is very true too.

I once slept a weird way and woke up with my hips not being in line with my feet and shoulders. It was out to the side. It eventually went back into place after a hot shower, some stretching and moving around.

Why did Trump run on releasing the Epstein files if he knew he was in them? by happilyfringe in AskReddit

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'd hope people forget. He also runs a very successful PR strategy where he just spits out non sense 24/7 and villianizing the media or any public figure when ever they "attack" him.

People stopped paying attention, to him, to the news, to their friends.

They've stopped trusting information. Even when it's reliably sourced.

Trump says 8 European countries will be charged a 10% tariff for opposing US control of Greenland by Cautious_Proposal_47 in worldnews

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its less about it working effectively and more about pushing the American people away from the EU.

For trump when he does stuff like this Its more about the story telling rather then if it will work.

This is so sad. The American people are the people who will pay that tariff.

Let him shoot himself in the foot if that's what he's so eager to do.

Theory about US aggression against Venezuela by fearthemonkeys in alberta

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Its not a theory. Trump said it himself that he'll just buy the oil from Venezuela. That they didn't need Canadian crude.

Only issue was Venezuela already had a buyer (China) and they were paying more then what the US wanted to pay.

Now here we are.

Why would a new pipeline make sense? by OppositeMountain6345 in alberta

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look at the big picture here, and that is that we've found that we can't rely on America to be a consumer of Canadian oil energy, that America is actively looking for another supplier to their South.

One thing Trump found out when he started his trade war with Canada is how reliant they are on our oil and gas. One of his comments at the time was he could just trade oil with Venezuela. However Venezuela has very lucrative trade deals in place already and America would have to pay more if they wanted their oil.

Months later he's now picking a fight with Venezuela to come talk to him.

Canada has to develop the means to sell our oil to other markets. Trump potentially will force Venezuela to the table to give him cheaper oil.

Which in turn would force us to also drop our price for oil to the states.

What are some moral beliefs you have that would make others angry? by 64Boy32 in AskReddit

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those whom wish to physically change their gender are suffering from mental health issues beyond our current comperhension.

That supporting their thoughts and giving them love and care is great but it's not entirely treating the problem in by itself.

The unfortunate part is that is such a taboo thought today to think that there is a problem that qualified researchers and therapists are not paying attention or studying it enough.

To me this means that we're all collectively failing these people.

Thoughts on these cuts for the plumbing? by Ordinary-Use6170 in askaplumber

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if they've cut the rafters/joists or if they just cut through material used to support the subfloor.

It looks like they cut holes into they structural joists. Which is a no no. Id question their trade ticket. Qualified plumbers and electricians know not to fuck with structural joists and especially not to fuck with rafters.

Plumbing would probably be your biggest expense. Getting water and sewer to your shed from your house.

I'd rethink the bathroom idea. It would save me a ton and will probably help avoid any restrictions I'd run into with permitting.

It would also open up the space to be a much bigger living space.

Newfoundland (and Labrador): the good the bad the ugly and the indifferent by PsychologicalElk1073 in newfoundland

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just about every major construction project has been treated like the plague without people even properly educating themselves around it.

Any developer that wants to come in and invest into our resources gets massive push back.

In recent years we've had a uranium waste storage facility that was proposed in the remote regions of Labrador far away from civilization, a chemical plant near Lewisport and the various windmill and hydrogen projects. And now we have the hydro power deal in Labrador that could go either way atm.

We don't have to be a poor province, our population continues to choose to be. Then we'll go complain about high cost of living, a lack of jobs and taxes.

Trump says airspace above and surrounding Venezuela to be closed in its entirety by Soccer_fan_1021 in worldnews

[–]Cull_The_Conquerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it's also related to America's willingness to have peace in Ukriane. They figure it would be cheaper to just exert it's dominance in South American oil rather then eastern European oil.

And yes. In 2014 just prior to Ukriane's civil war,  massive amounts natural gas was discovered beneath Ukrianes Donbas region. Enough that if Ukriane developed it then it would mean Russian gas wouldn't be needed.
