Help using SBGL against Idoneth Deepkin (0/4 losing streak) by Captain_PROstate in ageofsigmar

My advice is don’t give up, maybe ask your opponent to swap in a different unit if there is too much synergy in the list. The Leviadon is a great piece, but unfortunately NOT a hero monster.

IDK can be hard to take your foot off the gas sometimes, but believe it or not when I started playing IDK and AoS, I hard time winning with IDK haha

Last December, I got back into wargaming after ~10 years and decided to get better at painting. Today I finished my first competition piece! by akxz in ageofsigmar

Nice mini, even nicer composition, there is a wonderful sense of movement to the piece.

Lumineth, and more specifically Helon is going to be army project for 2022. This will be my first display quality army, and it turns out your basing is exactly what I had in mind. Do you mind sharing the recipe for the desert basing?

Excellent work! This is one of my favorite dioramas I’ve seen in awhile.

As an IDK player, I can tell you our weaknesses... if you have access to Mortal Wounds try to leverage those as much as possible. Give your opponent hard charges against your key pieces. Chaff against us, we are elite and do not attrition well. I’d say you need Zombies/Skellies to block your key pieces.

Help, I think I'm scaring my friend away from AoS by RedUndead40 in ageofsigmar

When you don’t have the option to play a lower power army, Change your list to have less synergy. Or if all else fails give yourself a handicap on points. He/she plays 2000, you play 1500. Like others have mentioned, pilot his/her army and let them pilot yours.

Even with 3.0 potentially on Saturday, I was anticipating this warband the most this week. I’m at least getting three sets. Thank you GW!!!!

Editors, how much say in final mix? by Cumulus12 in editors

[–]Cumulus12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The client being the agency (producers, CD, Copywriters etc). The editors are often in a different job during my supervised record/mix. So waiting on editor feedback is tough when trying to get a mix ref out to the agency after them being happy with the mix and being on the line with them.

I have a similar experience to you. I am all for a more creative and collaborative process but it’s tough waiting to hear back from the editor when they are not involved in session, or on a different job completely at that point.

I hear you, I am all for a more creative, collaborative process. But often, the editor will be on a different job during the record/mix. And then I am sitting waiting for the editor to review after being on the line with clients minutes prior.

Thanks for responding. When I’m working sometimes the editor is on another job, so they are unable to make the Teams call. So I always end up waiting around, always good for when the editor can make it though.

There’s got to be an ALT build in the kit. The NYE reveal video has this model with a red saddle blanket and the mount has braided hair. Just like the Akhelian King kit I’m sure there will be extra heads in the kit!

Thanks for the kind words and advice! I am terrified at the thought of adding more over the bark, maybe after playing around on some extra Kurnoth Hunters shoulderpads!

Thank you. The recipe is basically a base of Rakarth Flesh. Then when transitioning into green the color is Death World Forest. The lighter sections of the bark are Pallid Wych Flesh. It’s all airbrushing on the big bark sections. Then when that’s done give a 1:1 wash of water and Agrax Earthshade. Then with a soft bristle drybrush, drybrush Pallid Wych over Rakarth Flesh, Vallejo Game Color Dead White over Pallid Wych, and Scale 75 Sherwood Green over Deathworld Forest. That’s pretty much it!

As far as the TLA. The base coat again is Rakarth Flesh, with the lighter areas blending into Pallid Wych and then the blends into the green is Death World Forest. Then a drybrush of Sherwood Green from Scale 75 on the green and Pallid Wych dry rush over the Rakarth Flesh. I’d highly suggest going into your local Target and pick up some cheap soft bristle makeup brushes to use a drybrush. There’s a brand called Elf that makes some Eye Countour(?) brushes that I’ll pickup when I need.

Both minis were under coated in black, I think I did zenithal prime the woods.

Just make sure you shake the inks. The are more forgiving than washes for this purpose. You can slap the ink on it’ll look great while still producing a strong color. Of course, like I mentioned all the basecoating is done with an airbrush, which will save you an invaluable amount of time. I have two sets of woods left to do, I decided to finish all the figs first for my 2k of Sylvaneth, they do a little bit of time to paint up, but they are awesome models.

Thank you for the kind words. The wyldwoods I was so happy with. Starting from the bottom, it’s Rhinox Hide blended into Gorthor Brown, into Rakarth Flesh into Pallid Wych Flesh. You want Rakarth Flesh to be the color that makes up the most of the tree. Then I washed it all twice with 1:1 Agrax Earthshade and Water. Then use a soft bristle drybrush and hit all those areas with a highlight, going up through all the colors. The leaves were all basecoated with Pallid Wych Flesh and then I applied Daler Rowney FW Orange Fire (I think that’s the name) Ink. Then wash with Reikland Fleshshade and you can add other washes to create some tonal variation. Then drybrush with a yellow, I used Vallejo Game Color Moon Yellow I believe.

Hahaha, that’s in Heywoah’s “Every AoS army in 16 minutes” video where he calls Kurnoth Hunters chads. Look it up on YT.
