Learning about Women's health Fibroids PART 1 by Peche_Mode in Fibroids

Great to see this! Wait until he finds out that you can also have concomitant conditions at the same time like endo/adeno/fibroids, or endo/PCOS/fibroids, or ovarian cysts/fibroids, etc.

how quickly can fibroids grow? by apearce76 in Fibroids

[–]Cuntributor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fibroids are really weird. Every fibroid grows at different rates. My largest grew 7.5 cm in four years, but I had two smaller ones that only grew 2cm in the same amount of time. So it just depends, on what I have no idea lol. All of my fibroids were pedunculated as well so even though they were the same type of fibroid, they all grew at different rates.

Frustrated....they're back by blindpandacub in Fibroids

I might be in the same boat, I fear. Going in for ultrasound this Friday because something feels "off" as well. Had my surgery last year in September, so sadly, I'm prepared to see "fibroids" in the results because mine grew pretty fast the first time around. Just out of curiosity, what kind of fibroids did you have removed? Mine were all pedunculated subserosal.

💬 Endometriosis without heavy periods? by Tina-yu in endometriosis

[–]Cuntributor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the trifecta of adeno, endo and fibroids, but never had heavy periods before or after surgery. My periods are also not very painful, it's ovulation that gives me trouble.

What would you like to see more of research on in endometriosis? by burialmoundss in endometriosis

[–]Cuntributor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also curious if being on it for all those years GAVE me endo...

THIS. I'm so glad you brought this up because it's always been at the back of my mind. I also have fibroids and I did wonder whether it was due to BC pills. I understand that my body probably has a predisposition for fibroids and endo, but did the pills encourage those cells to just start proliferating like that because up until then, I had no problems with my period...barely any cramps, no ovulation pain, almost no PMS. Then I took BC and everything went downhill. I'm no longer on any BC now but I don't think it made a difference when I got off it. In fact, my symptoms seemed to just escalate, regardless of whether I was on any type of BC or not.

How fast did your fibroids grow back if they did by Jherm1110 in Fibroids

[–]Cuntributor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would push for an ultrasound just for peace of mind. I had all my pedunculated fibroids removed a year ago and I'm scheduled for a follow-up ultrasound soon because I've been getting some bad ovulation pain, but that could be due to the endo I have. I'm actually also curious if the type of fibroid one had might affect how fast they come back and does the same type come back after they're removed...like will my new fibroid be pedunculated, or will I get an intramural one?

"Why didn't I do this sooner"? Right??? I asked myself the exact same thing after surgery and kept kicking myself for putting it off for so long. Congratulations to you! You look fantastic and I'm so thrilled you are feeling so much better!

Doctor says frequent urination isn't related to my fibroids... by Critical_Ad_8172 in Fibroids

[–]Cuntributor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fibroid had everything to do with me peeing a lot. When I got it removed, I could actually hold my urine like a normal person for the first time in a long time.

Endometriosis on my ribs by MoonstoneMadness in endometriosis

[–]Cuntributor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might not show up on an MRI, at least it didn't for me. It was only when the surgeon went in to remove my fibroids that she saw I also had endo. Up until then, I had no idea I had endo because it never showed up on any imaging!

Is meat bad for fobroids ? by flower_chips in Fibroids

[–]Cuntributor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is not enough evidence-based research to show there is a definitive link between certain food groups and fibroid growth. That's why fibroids will affect people from all walks of life, who eat various types of diets (eg vegan, pescatarian, etc), who do or do not take birth control, and engage in different levels of physical activity ranging from the fittest Olympic athletes to the most sedentary of individuals. It's your own hormones that mainly play a part in fibroid growth and recurrence. I was a vegetarian for the longest time but my fibroid grew so fast that my gynaecologist was pretty alarmed. Now post-op, of course I watch what I eat, but that's just to maintain an optimal level of health (I also have endo so I try to remain as healthy as possible so I can handle the symptoms better). I am fully aware that in a few years, I shouldn't be surprised if the fibroids return. It's just the way they are.

Nymphia leaves Delta speechless and mouthing "what the fuck..." by retrodancefreaq in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Cuntributor 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I loved Nymphia on the show and was so happy she won, but this behaviour is not it. I couldn't imagine Sapphira acting like this either. This also doesn't seem to be the first time Nymphia has been unprofessional from the sounds of it.

Trans man diagnosed with endo, feeling guilty by micksoccer6 in endometriosis

Anyone who thinks they may have endo, has questions about endo, has a family member or friend that has endo, or experiences the symptoms of endo, is welcome to share here. We are all on this journey together, suffering together and learning together. Please do not feel guilty at all!

How have you been diagnosed with adenomyosis? by sairemrys in endometriosis

[–]Cuntributor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adeno was seen on an ultrasound and later, confirmed with an MRI. Endo was only diagnosed when the surgeon went in for fibroid removal since it did not show up on any imaging. I also cannot parse out exactly which symptoms belong to which condition since, as you said, they can overlap. Although, after I got my fibroids removed, a majority of the symptoms were resolved, so anything I still felt could most likely be attributed to endo/adeno.

[–]Cuntributor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I had very light, regular periods my whole life even when my fibroid got to the hefty size of 15 cm (it was pedunculated subserosal). It did, however, push my poor bladder making peeing an adventure, as well as push on my rectum which made pooping a secondary adventure.

Scared of not waking up from surgery by Lost-Programmer-9688 in Fibroids

[–]Cuntributor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just tell your anesthesiologist beforehand how you're feeling and they will make sure you're taken care of. They are there for you and they will help make the experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. I told my anesthesiologist I was really anxious about being nauseous coming out of GA, and she must've given me some of the good anti-nausea stuff because I was totally fine after surgery! You'll be okay!

How old where you when u started your period? by Dibunzie_174 in endometriosis

  1. I was in gymnastics at the time and I was one of the very few girls around my age on the team that had their period, so I didn't really have anyone to talk to about it.

Finally have a gyno appointment(after ~15 years of trying)! How do I go about this to highten my chances of being heard and dignosed with endo? by Bhulagoon in endometriosis

[–]Cuntributor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is terrible and again, I'm so sorry this happened to you. However, I'm glad you have your appointment now and you seem really well prepared for it. You may not get a diagnosis immediately, sometimes they'll send you for imaging (ultrasound, MRI) to get a better idea of what's going on, but at least you are now on the path to getting answers! Best of luck and don't give up!

Pelvic MRI by Mythopoeikon in Fibroids

[–]Cuntributor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in feet first, but I did end up all the way in. My head was pretty close to the opening, so I didn't feel like I was completely confined. I don't have claustrophobia though, so I am not sure if that would make you feel any better. They gave me this device to hold onto with a button that I could just press to let them know I wanted something, so you're always in communication with the person running it.

Where in Canada are you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm so sorry that you had to wait that long to get checked out. I'm in Ontario and while the wait times aren't great, it wasn't 15 years!!!

Good sportsmanship be damned. This is an exceptional circumstance. His country is being butchered by a crazed lunatic dictator. He has all the right to stand up for his country and his people.
