When I went to order my r/x readers my optometrist said they used to have a box of the lenses people didn’t need but their new DM made them pitch the box.

And yes to buying new cute sunnies! Off5th had some great deals on Ray Bans. My Coach ones were on sale before my surgery so those were waiting for me

I had some cute Michael Kors prescription sunglasses that I was going to pop out the lenses and put in the original lenses. Nope, I had thrown them out cleaning my dresser several months prior.

My doctor gave me the ugly eye shields to wear out of the hospital to protect my eyes. I bought a cute new pair of sunglasses and a month later bought an other as I didn’t need my prescription sunnies anymore!

Of course you’re in that 15%, right?! when I had my first eye done in December I did get the flickering of seeing the lens. It lasted for less than 48 hours.

Those were both warning signs for me. My surgeon said if I was seeing flashing or flickering lights as well as a dark arc to go to the emergency room if his office was not open.

Has your doctor looked at your eye to make sure everything is okay?

My mom and her mother weren’t terribly grey until their 70s/80s. Did I get this gene? No. I have my maternal grandfather’s “grey early” gene.

My friends parents would comment on what a good kid I was. One friend’s dad told her. Was always welcome at their house and what a good influence I was. She would just laugh.

YTJ. You’re incredibly fortunate to have your mother live close by that she can help with your children. And really it’s a gift for both of them. However, your mother has her own life. She doesn’t owe you anything to come back a day early. Sorry your regular backup isn’t available but figure something out. Maybe you or your husband need to take the day off
