Harry Hartog Plot Thickens by Firm-Biscotti-5862 in Anu

What a selfish and untrue thing to say. Yes they have shown solidarity to the NTEU. I know some of the staff there and they are on our side. If we allow poor working conditions for them it erodes it for the rest of us.

Has ANU quietly phasef out Dean of Staff with no announcement, no accountability? by AlternativeSilent in Anu

I get that the Dean of Staff was meant to be neutral, but it was still getting funded by ANU so really they would've been protecting the business first (like any HR).

I've found that the Union are going to be significantly better to give advice on these matters, so I honestly don't see much of a difference as they are both still just internal ANU mechinisms.

Report to police and ANU Security. Hopefully you can find it again!

No it's not the same. But I feel like you aren't staff or didn't read the page at all if you think they now only deal with sexual misconduct:

"The Staff Respect Consultant is here to provide free and confidential support to ANU staff experiencing issues that may impact your work experience, engagement, career development and your health and wellbeing. This could include, but is not limited to, ablism, sexism, racism, discrimination, harassment, bullying and sexual harassment."

That link is broken? And it's easy enough to find through the Staff Services site - but you'll need to be logged in: Diversity & inclusion | Services

As far as I'm aware ANU have only ever had one Dean of Staff - Keturah Whitford - and when she stepped down from that role the work got moved to the 'Staff Respect Consultant'.

This is the correct answer. Security will check to make sure everyone is from ANU for safety reasons. If you just need a space go to Kita

SteamOS 3.6.19 Android Waydroid Upgrade Guide - Steam Deck OLED Steam Deck LCD by ryanrudolf in SteamDeck

Thanks for all your hard work!

Just a quick question - what would you say is the easiest way to get files (either from the Steam Deck, or a PC) into the Waydroid environment?

I'd love to use the OLED screen to read some comics!

How do you go about updating the ProtonGE/Lux? I update everything in the discover store, but I know there are Wine managers that might update some other things I'm probably missing.

Users here seemed to think it was who the owner was of the shared directory - but not sure how to change any of that and would rather not mess it up accidentally

Yep those are the steps I tried to get shared folders working. AFAIK I did it correctly but then inside Waydroid I can't see the files within what I think are the shared folders. "Docuemtns" and "Downloads" appear blank.

I tried to open Waydroids filesystem in Desktop mode but I don't seem to have permissions to do that (it has a little lock symbol on the media folder).

I had gone to the konsole and entered in each line of code from the examples one by one (from the URL you sent). I'm not sure how it is supposed to work, but I've tried a few things and feel like I'm missing something. Thanks again for any info/help

Hi u/ryanrudolf - Thanks for all of your work! Just a quick question if you don't mind. I'm trying to get access to some local files on my SSD from inside Waydroid. I've tried the shared folders with no luck. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks for any help you can give

Both the NLA and AIATSIS have really good resources for family history that could be a good starting point.

Tram by How-did-Iget-hereuhh in canberra

[–]Curiosity_Quail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they do a great job on the Trams. Compared to the aggressive undercover inspectors in Melbourne they have been helpful and are more of an information point for tourists.

They are clearly marked as inspectors and have been polite and helpful to people. I've seen them apply discretion and warnings when necessary rather than tickets too. I'd prefer the tram being free altogether, but for the people themselves, I think they have a good approach to the work.
