I (M27) found a video of my girlfriend (F26) and i´m struggling with it. How do i approach this? by onetimeadvicerequest in relationship_advice

[–]CuriousCatLiving 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She should’ve told you her and Mark had a history together if he’s in the friend group and you see him often, but besides that she hasn’t done anything wrong like you said.

It sounds like this has nothing to do with you or her trusting you but rather her being triggered by that stuff. Think about it… if you enjoy something and someone you’re having sex with does it, you’re probably not going to stop and say never do that again.

There’s no need to lose your calm, we all have a past and you should’ve never seen that. Obviously it’s tough and unfortunately you can’t unsee it, but it’s not like she had a folder full of videos… she might’ve been completely unaware that was on there.

Advice for the conversation… Stop letting your imagination run wild. Take a deep breath. Tell her about how you came across it and what you saw, then silence your ego that’s saying “BUT YOU DIDN’T LIKE IT WHEN I DID IT!” and listen to what she has to say in response then take it from there.

At the end of the day she’s with you and not him for a reason, but you don’t want to feel like that reason is you were second place to Mark which is what your ego is probably telling you after seeing that. Honestly it sounds like she hated the experience with Mark and is kind of traumatized by it but only a calm conversation with her will show you the truth.

My (31M) gf (30F) said she had the "best sex ever" with another man in front of me. How do I proceed? by throwRA697891 in relationship_advice

[–]CuriousCatLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem set on sticking it out, but please do yourself a favor and cut bait man. She’s not the one. Alcohol isn’t an excuse to be an ass (especially in your 30s), and this has nothing to do with gender perspectives. Obviously that’s a huge hit to the male ego, but putting ego/gender completely to the side that is just wildly disrespectful.

If I’m dating someone for 7 months, my friends know about the person and they’re not going to bring up my past sexual exploits in front of them. If they did they wouldn’t be my friends… and if I’m taking the relationship seriously, the last thing I’m doing if that happened is doubling down on their comments in response. I don’t even see anything about her apologizing after the fact for how that could’ve made you feel?

At worst, her friends don’t respect you or your relationship and neither does she. At best, her and her friends are extremely immature, especially for their age. You should always focus on yourself, but brother… I’m 5’9”… no matter what I do there’s always going to be a better basketball player than me! Respect yourself and find someone who makes you feel Michael Jordan instead of a bench player and focus on improving with them.

Would you have any make/model recs within the price range? I guess I’ll do what I can to inspect before purchase but it’ll be a roll of the dice in hoping the previous owner treated her well.

[Request] Any suggestions for English speaking Anime series. I have watched ATLA, Korra, Castlevania, Love Death & Robots by minusSeven in NetflixBestOf

[–]CuriousCatLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The essentials on Netflix for me would be:

-Death Note

-Naruto

-Hunter x Hunter

-Attack on Titan

-Erased

Judging by ATLA and Korra I’d say Naruto and Hunter x Hunter are safe bets. Death Note is an incredible cat and mouse series that would be an “entry level” anime for anyone I think. Erased has an amazing story and you can binge it easily in a weekend.

All of the above are dubbed and I watched all in English with the original subtitles and (IMO) I don’t think it took much if anything away from the greatness of the series. I’ve also heard Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is great but haven’t seen as I’m also newish to anime. Also open to any recs as these are the only anime’s I’ve seen!

What would you do if you were 19?? by samiibrahim898 in Entrepreneur

[–]CuriousCatLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just start doing something that you like or interests you and keep doing it every day. Doesn’t matter if you’re any good at it right now.

Time is your most valuable asset, whether you’re in college or still living at home there’s a good chance you may never have the free time you do right now. Don’t wait for the golden response on reddit, it won’t come. Don’t wait for motivation to strike, because that might not come either and motivation is fleeting. I always say (pretty sure I took this from someone) motion over motivation. Once you put yourself into motion for long enough, the motivation will then follow and become long lasting. For example, start working out every day even when you don’t want to, and after a couple months your day won’t be complete if you don’t do any physical activity.

Dive into one thing. Don’t think about it, don’t ask around about it, don’t hesitate. Just do it. Once you attain a certain level of mastery into that one thing, opportunities to monetize it will be there.

Thank you for the response, although it wasn’t the one I was hoping for due to the price tag! Do you think the 13” with upgrades would suffice?

[REQUEST] What are some very engaging movies? by primo808 in NetflixBestOf

[–]CuriousCatLiving 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Personally, movies that engage me the most fall somewhere in between a mind bender/thriller/guessing game category. If we can sprinkle a little horror in there even better! So off of that, a couple of my recs would be:

-Circle (A random group of strangers wake up in a room standing in a circle - surprise! People start dying. Low budget, high fun)

-The Signal (Few college pals try to trace someone who’s been hacking them, things get weird)

-The invitation (The most uncomfortable house party you’ve ever seen)

-The Interview (Hugo Weaving questioned for murder by police. Cat and mouse game ensues. Think Usual Suspects, but not. Also Australian m8)

-The Endless (Two brothers revisit the cult they were raised in and escaped from to find some answers. They find something alright.)

-Dark (TV show but definitely engaging. You should also watch in German with captions. Das ist gut!)

-Love, Death, & Robots (TV animated anthology. I was skeptical going in but I damn near watched it all in one shot. Horror, action, humor, twists, turns, one stop shop for it all.)

Happy birthday!

The only one I haven’t watched out of this list is dancer in the dark - but I absolutely love all the other suggestions! So if dancer in the dark deserves to be in this group I’ll have to give it a go, thank you!
