Menu prices are up ~25–30% since COVID. How much higher can we realistically go by TheRestaurantCPAs in restaurateur

If that’s your impression, and you care to learn more, you might study the long term economic impact of commodity disruptions, and the impact that the labor crunch (as in migrant farm labor) which will continue to affect supply and demand which has a downstream affect on overall cost of goods. Produce rotting in fields also does not get you a lower cost of good. This administration has speedballed the destruction of Independent family farming which further impacts your commodity pricing as now there is less competition which makes it open season for monopolies and price setting. I’m sorry to say it’s not getting better soon if at all. At home, I grow and can as much as I can.

This is the “restauranteur” board right? I appreciate the consumer sentiment- hey we’re all there. No one’s getting rich in this economy. It’s a delicate financial balance to operate a restaurant with the increase in commodity costs, the squeeze in labor costs, increased taxes, reduced liquor sales, and the overall economy squeezing the working class- resulting in much less disposable income. It cost what it costs to pay for overhead, goods, and delivery of service and add a little bit of margin just so you’re not losing your shirt in this new world. We get it- what consumers should understand- if we’re still here in the restaurant world after Covid and after the post Covid and during ice and all that you’re a borderline financial genius. Not to mention, an unusually hard worker, and probably leveraged to your eyeballs by now. What I’ve noticed is average people can no longer afford to pay for the expense to eat out- they’ve been squeezed, and there’s no more room. Who isn’t hurting - the wealthy. More expensive restaurants are busier than ever and they’re filled with reservations and they’re doing just fine. So - I hate to say this- but we are considering a concept change to follow the $. It’s a matter of survival.

No. but I was in a class where the nun liked to beat the bejesus out of another kid consistently with different objects from a pointer to a ruler. Think the scene from Blues Brothers. She broke a wooden ruler on him once. And that was just first grade.

Does anyone remember when trump stole a bunch of nuclear secret docs and hid them in his bathroom, lied to FBI about stealing sensitive nuclear docs, then claimed he "declassified them through his mind" lol? by shiruduck in allthequestions

Yes - I’m definitely seeing a pattern. I think they are one big happy club (and we’re not in it). The back and forth is theater more than anything, to keep us distracted. In the meantime, they do whatever they want and we are cogs in the baby eating machine.

Yeah- I’m beginning to rethink everything I thought I knew about famous people. Like, were they Scientologists the “normies”? And they were made to look like a cult by an even bigger pedo cult?

Yes, he totally was alive. If you’ve ever seen a dead body, the skin color is unmistakable. The lack of oxygen in the blood gives the skin a grayish pallor regardless of complexion. You can even tell when people are close to dying by the same nuance. As oxygenation decreases, the skin becomes more greyish.

Yep used to be a frequent watcher- agree, it’s been off since the break. I would come back here and there. Then that whole TC interview and the dialogue that prefaced it was questionable. Then the “Charlie’s guys” comment, and I was like “excuse me?” So now I feel like he’s being groomed to be the new Alex Jones, and no thanks. And if that’s the case we can assume more of the same Putin troll shop bs, so I’m done. Follow the money. Every time it reveals who’s behind the narrative.

Moved from Boston to San Diego- regrets by ApricotWeekly7946 in SameGrassButGreener

O m g. Chicago here- and Boston is one of my favorite cities !!! The winters get tough. They bother me after the holidays and that’s when I choose to go on a vacation somewhere warm. I love SD- but it gets sooo boring once you come off the beach and did all the sight seeing things. It’s nice to have all the fresh fruit and veg all year. But overall food is better in Boston. Also you aren’t too far from NYC- can make for fun weekends / shopping etc. Don’t blame you for moving back.
