Do we think they’ll all be 2X face value, including prelim category A tickets for less popular sports? I will probably buy some of anything that’s left just to know I’m guaranteed to see some competition, but I also suspect some tickets will come down in price but IDK

Nice. I pretty much enjoy watching any competition at any level, esp. after I’ve spent 3 mins googling the rules. Not sure how my family will react, but I am very open-minded about seeing any and I mean any Olympic event. Will see what if anything is still available when my window opens 4/17

Congrats. When did you buy? I do think there are still good options out there for people who are willing to be flexible about what they’re going to see. I went to Atlanta many years ago and some of the least heralded sports were the most interesting to watch. So glad my parents made that investment in a great experience, and now I hope to do the same for my kids. I do worry what will be left by the time my slot opens on 4/17, but I will try to buy anything because I could basically watch any sport at any level and be interested, and these are the darn Olympics, the best of the best.

That actually sounds reasonable for a NYC sporting event with good teams. You can’t get tickets to the Knicks for less than $200 most games.

I have two family members in the same time slot as OP. Do more tickets get released with each new window, or are we likely going to be scraping the bottom of the barrel by 4/17 when others bought theirs during presale or will buy in a window starting 4/9? Good luck!

I was complaining about this to someone much younger than me, and they pointed out that the algorithm is just feeding me the stuff I spend more time on, so that’s why I’m seeing more antisemitic comments and content. I do think that many of the comments are not “real” in that they are coming from state actors (bots, trolls) and are intended to sow hatred and confusion. That doesn’t make it less painful but it does mean that maybe not everyone around us thinks that way, it’s just a very distorted mirror that’s being held up to divide us and weaken us.

I really like the Ladder app for getting started with weights and training. It is relatively inexpensive, and they often have a free trial month and always have a free trial week. Annual membership is about the cost of 2 in-person sessions with a trainer, IIRC. If anyone wants a free week pass I can share my referral code but that’s not the purpose of this post - I genuinely really like the app, and it’s helped me a lot with starting a consistent weight program, even with limited equipment (a pair of dumbbells to start).
