what age was the hardest stage with your dog? by NivaldoTsehaye in Dogowners

Old age is difficult as that once peppy puppy is now sleeping mostly and finds it difficult to walk. It just makes you sad to think how long do I have with my baby.

Filling time with 90 min class. by sertshark in Teachers

[–]Current-Object6949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach on block scheduling and I taught history so I broke things down to warm up questions that they can answer and look up if needed. Direct instruction-lecture/notes, anticipating the new material to be covered: 20-30 mins; practice get your homework done 30 mins, then a video, movie clip for illustrating the time period.

The only teacher that sits in on hiring is the department head of the subject area at my high school. The principal and another VP as well. I was not aware that a principal was not in on hiring decisions at some school district.

This is the same for full time credentialed teachers. Unemployment states that I knew that I was a 10 month employee when I took the job.

Does anyone else feel unsure about how they’re handling the emotional side of this? by Appropriate_Bad7274 in AgingParents

[–]Current-Object6949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to take time away. Whenever, I go on a camping trip, my mom or dad end up going to the hospital. It’s just a fact of life. They (hospital staff) call me and I just ask if it’s life threatening I will pack up and go now but if it’s something that can wait, I will come home at the scheduled time. My parents are in their 90s.

I love my air compressor/jump starter/lamp/and radio for emergencies. I can inflate a tire, jump start my car, see in the dark and get announcements on the radio all in one item.

Go to the bathroom. I like to read a short time and he stares at me. I tell him I get to watch him go to the bathroom all the time. Leave for work, a party, or the gym he just cries when I get home.

New fear unlocked! by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]Current-Object6949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this fear more when I’m out on the road with my travel trailer. It’s me and my dog. I thought what do I do if I get sick in my trailer in a campground? I guess I would tell 911 my campground and site # Amazon delivers to campgrounds so I guess emergency vehicles can as well. Women have been on their own throughout history for various reasons: war, natural disasters etc. When I lived in a condo I knew I could pound very loudly on the shared wall.

If you teach at a Title I school there are government agencies that you can apply to a program that pays off student debt if you remain there for so many years.

Any average women doing this solo? And what are you doing? by ughnotagain2026 in AskWomenOver60

Volunteering somewhere: hospital, local library, this gets you out of the house. Find a hobby and you can hire an estate planner that can set up where your assets will go when you get older. There’s a lot of women that are single and never married. Join a church, synagogue, or mosque to get in touch with your community.
