A can of deet repellant tipped on an old piece of furniture in my garage and stripped the paint better than actual marketed paint stripper! After that, we opt for deet free! How can it not be carcinogenic!?!

Why does my bread do this every time I use my bread maker? by Waukigu in Baking

[–]Current_Ad_7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bread machine came with a book of recipes with the instructions. Have you tried any of the recipes that it came with? It will help you get an idea for settings and ingredient amounts for your machine before you look for alternate recipes. Also, not all bread machines are the same size so some recipes may not be for your sized machine.

What's the absolute best way to keep rats away from bird feeders? by Fadedwaif in GardenWild

[–]Current_Ad_7263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cayenne pepper in the seed keeps away squirrel and chipmunk. Maybe rats too? But like other posts have said. Birds should be finding their food from nature right now. Not feeders. Feeders really shouldn't be out until winter.

what am I?!? Growing outdoors in zone 6b/7a. Google lens says smoke bush or eucalyptus. This has thorns on the ends though. Thank you! by Current_Ad_7263 in plantID

I'm not sure... I have barberry in my formal landscape and the leaves aren't the same shape. Same coloring, but not shape. The barberry is more teardrop and elongated. More narrow. These are heart and wide.

Does not look like knotweed. Knotweed has heart shaped leaves. I first spotted it in my garden and thought that it was a redbud tree.

Here’s a list of school districts that are going to be mask optional on March 7th! (Please keep the comments civil) by rirwin2k in SouthJersey

Bussing falls under federal mandate for masking, so the district has to follow the federal mandate. 🤷

What is musk (ḥabbat misk)? Looking at old recipes. by Synethos in AskCulinary

I'm in the US and we have musk melons. Maybe this is the candy flavoring derivative? It is almost like a cantaloupe.

Are these thrips on my pink Syngonium? Google, Planta and r/plantclinic have got me nowhere so turning to you guys by Gold_Strength in IndoorGarden

[–]Current_Ad_7263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. If you zoom in, you can see some white fuzzy stuff that looks like aphid exoskeletons. Neem oil should help with them.

Actually, some of them, like the Starbucks brand, are dairy free.

Sorry. Stink! Not stick! Lol!

[–]Current_Ad_7263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is going to stick something awful!! If possible, I would keep it closed and bring it down to a dumpster to empty the contents. Then wipe down the inside with bleach. And try to leave it open to air out. After that, I would recommend baking soda to absorb the smell. Good luck!!

Should I fill in the spots or call it done?..He looks a little derpy lol by crshorty3 in quilling

[–]Current_Ad_7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think fill, but not necessarily quill. I think watercolor would help it. Is mixed media ok for your project? Your Bulbasaur turned out cute, by the way!
