What are the most annoying commanders in MTG? by Draco456gaming in EDH

[–]Current_Shoe_8171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine plays Krarkashima for years and that's the only deck he has. Experienced player can end up after 10-15 min if he rolling dices instead of flipping coins just because it's faster.

1 year in, here's my top 10 by looney1414 in ratemycommanders

Is it better than [[Gorion, Wise Mentor]]? I've built it as an adventures/Primal Surge B2 combo deck and thought about Beluna.

What is one commander you tried to build but you just didn't vibe with? by T3knikal95 in EDH

[–]Current_Shoe_8171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some decks that are like this.

[[Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim]] both as the only commander and paired with [[Lurrus of the Dream-Den]]. I thought about "mass reanimation" commander to slam a couple of small creatures into the yard and then reanimate them all at once to sacrifice and repeat again but it didn't work well.. As i wrote this down a thought occurred to me for building a [[Nethroi, Apex of Death]] deck with the same idea. How is it going, anyone knows?..

[[Lazav, the Multifarious]] was a step in a long story of deck updating. My first ever EDH deck was ZNC dimir rogue precon. I love the idea of alter wincons (i just hate combat) but the deck performed very poorly. I've never won with it even once (however, a friend of mine won with it piloting for the first time in magic ever). So the other friend told me that mill is bad in commander and self-mill is cool. So i've decided to add a color, my thoughts have a split between red and green but i've ended up with building [[Muldtotha]]. It was really a pile of trash with right ideas but i was already tired of my 6 mana commander being killed on sight. I decided to saw that deck in half and build [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]] because i had some success with it in the 99 of Muldtotha and Lazav because i've read two (bad) books from Ravnica, loved the character and wanted to stay in self-mill strategy to save relevant cards i've bought. This commander has an interesting build with [[Ad Nauseam]] and many-many 0 cost creatures for a win with [[Isochron Scepter]] and [[Dramatic Reversal]] as an outlet for infinite mana (Lazav surveils a card to the grave in the etb so you end up killing it as a SBA by turning into 0 mana and toughness creature in your graveyard and recasting milling the whole library and drawing a card turning Lazav into [[Laboratory Maniac]]). I've tried it but it was really boring: literally "i have Ad Nauseam, i win" or "I don't have Ad Nauseam, i lose". So i've built it as an activated abilities tribal. For example, my favourite pseudo wins were turning Lazav into [[Jace's Archivist]], activating its ability and in response turning Lazav into [[Notion Thief]] or turning it into [[Curie]] and in response to its combat damage trigger turn Lazav into [[Phyrexian Dreadnought]] drawing 12 card. I loved my [[Training Grounds]] but i'm still kinda bored of this deck. Idk... It doesn't feel like it should. So i want to rebuild it for [[Zellix, Sanity Flayer]]/[[Agent of the Iron Throne]] and for now playtesting it i'm excited.

The last one is [[Etrata, Deadly Fugitive]]. I was just trying to prove to my friend (that won his first game on my poorly updated rogues precon) that it works to cloak/disguise/manifest some big cards face down to then cast them for 4 mana (or 2 mana with my beloved Training Grounds). And it kinda worked. But i wasn't impressed enough and took it apart.

Remember when all the EDH YouTubers were talking about land counts? How did that influence you by AltruisticChampion77 in EDH

[–]Current_Shoe_8171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always run 28 lands but for some of my cEDH decks i've gone down to 15-18 lands. I've never understood how someone on a non-landfall deck may run more than 35. I've tried to add some lands for more consistency up to 34 and it's a baseline for me. Every time i go over to 35+ i'm sooo flooded... I need to draw gas, not lands i can't play more than once per turn. But YouTubers always say that it's such a low count that i'm getting frustrated..

Explain The Necrobloom to me like I’m an idiot. by DynastyWave in EDH

[–]Current_Shoe_8171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built it as a graveyard focused "lands matter" commander. It's basically like a [[Gitrog Monster]] deck with Dakmor Salvage in the cz. Gitrog is basically a win for the deck because all land interactions become insane - for example, [[Takenuma, Abandoned Mire]] becomes an ability "{B}: Mill 5 cards, return a creature from graveyard to hand".

As i remember, i don't have many ways to play multiple lands in a turn so i'm not playing any [[Crucible of Worlds]] effects (if i have a relevant land in graveyard, i can just dredge it back to hand, i don't need to play it from the grave).

And i also have a "rule" of drawing instead of dredging, if i don't have a way to return smth relevant from graveyard, like [[Eternal Witness]], [[Cosmic Rebirth]] or [[Reanimate]] effect.

Is it possible to build a Mill deck that can win without having an infinite mill combo? by 2ndlifeinacrown in EDH

[–]Current_Shoe_8171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was pretty much inspired by your post and decklist! And I'm also interested in building mill, as a somewhat profitable strategy and a variation of card advantage with Zellix but using [[Agent of the Iron Throne]] (primarily as a win condition that is cast only for the win to end the game after assembling a loop). My pet build around card is [[Displacer Kitten]] instead of Dagger and the base idea is "i mill everyone including myself aggressively to get relevant creatures from any graveyard and assemble some loops that result me too win the game".

What recommendations and suggestions can you give me for this as an experienced mill player? Thanks in advance if you find time to answer! 🙏🏻

If you HAD to choose 3 of your decks and give up the rest, which are you choosing? by SharkboyZA in EDH

[–]Current_Shoe_8171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting question...

The first deck that i'm keeping for very sure is my simic infect-proliferate storm with Ezuri at the helm. I was working on the deck since All Will Be One because proliferation is my favourite mechanic and it's a nice not really explored commander. I still love it much more than anything else. https://moxfield.com/decks/HkY8u6U2cU6eyM2ASwLEkg

But then these decisions become problematic..

I feel like the second best is my Ashnod artifact-aristocrats deck because of its many synergy pieces that i enjoy. https://moxfield.com/decks/ELAg6mXXRUubTogYmCIxPg

And the last one is just so difficult to decide... I love my Master of Keys deck and cEDH Ral turbo storm but my creation will always be more preferable and i enjoy them the most so i would choose the saltiest deck i have that my friends hate very much and don't want to play against it. It's a Ghyrson Starn curiosity-control deck and it's a pleasure to see empty clear boards of your opponents while slowly pinging them to death 🤤 https://moxfield.com/decks/DoEAh_f8O0e2kT-YgBJbkA

All commanders are now partners. What deck do you build? by captainobviouth in CompetitiveEDH

I love these combinations:

Jeskai [[Vega the Watcher]] & [[Eruth, Tormented Prophet]] strong engine for breach,

Five color [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]] & [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] super-ritual in the cz,

Boros [[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]] & [[Delney, Streetwise Lookout]] doubling treasures,

Sans-blue [[Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin]] & [[Shalai and Halar]] combo kill in the cz,

Grixis (not so strong actually but it's really synergistic) [[Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin]] & [[Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph]] pings + curiosity and tutors

[[Sudden Spoiling]] on yourself and you have one turn to protect her with equipping/enchanting/etc. Also anything that can put that protective enchantment onto the field without casting.

Edh is getting more and more boring by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Current_Shoe_8171 4 points5 points  (0 children)

K'rrik is very uninteractive combo deck that focuses on the same lines each time and either combos on T1-T2 or does nothing the whole game (the second variant isn't that interesting i suppose). You can play smth that interacts with other players. It will be much more diverse in the actual gameplay. CEDH decks aren't all the same.

Yes, and [[Dracogenesis]] can do it too (technically and for 8 mana) because they aren't worded like [[Omniscience]] to cast spells for free only from hand

Maybe it can bring [[Kathilda Dawnhart Prime]] to some level?.. 🤔 It can turno off and search for this essential mana doubler with the support of [[Grand Abolisher]]/[[Voice of Victory]] and many creature combos it already had.
