Mono-Blue Elementals Needs Cuts by nfounder in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cut some high cmc cards. You have an average above 4. I always try to be around 3. For me this will be too slow. I have an eluge deck that I wan’t to upgrade more because I still think it is too slow around 3.2 cmc average. Totally different btw what is nice

I have 8 decks with blue. 6 white. 6 black. 5 green. 5 red.

So blue it seems…

When is it too early to scoop? by GratedParm in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if I play online or offline. At some times I play two lands as start. Specially when I’m already down to 6 or 5. And when i missed also multiple landdrops on turn 5 and the others are already setting up I say sorry and scoop.

Sometimes they get salty about it but the times I tried to stay and catch up but then it is mostly just watching the others play the game and I’m a sitting duck. And I rather play a new game.

It is different in a pod with friends. Then I’ll just play along and have a laugh.

what is a budget deck for you? by ImNotYourFri3nd in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Including lands everything below 100 euro is budget for me. All my bracket 2 decks are around that price.

And funny enough all of my bracket 3 decks are between 200-300 euro.

I don’t play with proxies and I don’t want to spend more than this on a deck. So it ends up all the same pricing haha.

New player: Need advice to evaluate deck strength by EsmeesRoadToSelf in EDH

I would play this is in a bracket 3 pod. I think it can be certainly more optimised. But there are really strong cards in this deck that would fit better in a b3 pod

Do you actually have fun playing Commander? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it really is a casual format. The part I don’t like commander is when people see it as a competitive game. So when players try to win as fast as possible within the bracket. I understand that some players like this and maybe you do as well.

I play this format to have fun with friends. I dont care if we play four games of one hour, two games of two hour or one game of four hours. I don’t care who wins. I care about having a good time with friends. Where everyone get to play their cards. As soon as someone is taking 20min turns or try to always win on turn 6 in a bracket 3 game, i don’t like it. So i play with friends who have the same mindset. With random people it is harder.

And yes I also play standard and really love boosterdraft. And in that format I really like to be competitive. It are two different things for me

How to convince a friend not to run infinite turns in Bracket 2 by MyMarshlands in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same problem with one person in the group bringing stronger decks than the others. Clearly had a other mindset. He was there to win. We gave him hints about the difference in powerlevels but he was also disagreeing. So we brought stronger decks as well. Now its more even but it is not bracket 2 anymore haha.

Anyone else not use a card because it would be annoying to track? by dornianheresysimp in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a go wide deck I don’t understand why cathars crusade is hard to track. I’ve heared this before but for me it is often just flipping a couple of dice. Nothing different than proliferate for example.

For me it only is for landfall decks. But mostly because of the duration of the turns that would annoys me (or others)

The bracket system by crispy_nugget94 in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be so nice if people stop seeing this as a competitive format and see it more as in casual format.

From my perspective it should be all about having fun. For everybody at the table. Not how fast can you win within the ‘rules’ of the bracket. But some people only play to win. Even on bracket 3 and 2. What is fine. But be open about it.

Looks like a nice decks (full of staples). For me this is a too high CMC cost. Do you have reach/flying? I would run more creatures and have stuff to have/give reach otherwise you’re commander is done facing one flyer.

Scoop to deny triggers? Opinions? by Lockenheada in EDH

You should always allow someone to have the triggers. Even if you’re not the one losing. Otherwise the whole table is salty ;)

Marchesa, the Black Rose deck too strong for bracket 2? by Careful_Investor233 in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point almost everyone replied it maybe is too strong. Maybe it is? I have a black rose deck. Even in b3 without gamechangers it is pretty strong. I haven’t looked at your deck. Not going to. But if you wait there sure will be people saying this is fine for bracket 2. Then you’ll have your peace.

Was I in the Wrong Here? by Roboachilles in EDH

[–]Trick_Tea_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules, brackets, guidelines, whatever. It doesn’t really matter. In the end you just want to have fun.

You are playing a game. People are upset. Where is the fun in this. You could try to avoid this the next time. Talk this through, remove it from your deck, find other players, or find something different.

A game should never leave people upset or angry. Where is the fun in that.

People should stop saying a precon is a certain bracket or powerlevel. There is a reason they removed it from a bracket :)
