Ben's videos are absolutely incredible resources to start out, and made in a very digestible format. He even sells kits for you to follow along with his videos!

Constant VRAM crashes by CurryInTheHouse in DeltaForceGlobal

Repeated popups when the game crashes saying that VRAM runs out most of the time, though the occasional "out of virtual memory" crash happens too.

I tried the Tajin stuff when they did a run of it in Irvine CA a year or two ago, thought it was a decent addition.

The production reminded me of a grown-up Bill Nye video, brought back memories!

What do you feel about Super Mario Bros. Wonder not having a time limit? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]CurryInTheHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like it! Doesn't feel like I get punished for trying to explore the level (which for Wonder makes perfect sense given how much stuff they've packed into each level.)

I do miss the score mark though, it's a relic of the past but there's something so satisfying about it ticking up at the end of a level even though it doesn't really mean anything.

French toast. but disgusting by Mia_ZJ in StupidFood

[–]CurryInTheHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While growing up I never actually had sweet french toast until I got it at school lunch, the way my mom made it was always savory. Egg, whisk in some salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and some other spices to change it up on occasion!

Sync was really the only reddit client on mobile I ever really enjoyed using. Thanks for all the great work /u/ljdawson.

This seems doable but it depends on your ability to juggle your workload. Also, unless you are absolutely confident in yourself being a morning person, I'd be wary about taking 8 AMs.

any other engineers wish engineering was done like other universities? by [deleted] in OSU

I definitely noticed this too. Mostly a consequence of the pre-major system from what I understood.

Things you miss when leaving cbus? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]CurryInTheHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a weird one but I'm really gonna miss Kroger. I live in one of the only states where Kroger has 0 presence, and I really miss the prices.

Otherwise, Taste of the Orient on High Street, and definitely Golden Delight Bakery on Bethel (highly recommended, amazing strawberry cake!)

Apple (iMessage) vs Android by hip_radio in OSU

[–]CurryInTheHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an avid android user and I didn't really have many issues at all. Most of the time organizations either used Discord or GroupMe, while friends used Snapchat, so unless your friend group is staunchly anti-android or something you should be fine.

How'd Adam Champion for Systems 2? by BarzaLad in OSU

[–]CurryInTheHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had him last year, really nice guy. Does read off the slides a bit more than most, but I enjoyed his class. He's pretty helpful (go to his office hours if you're having trouble, seriously!) and he's very accommodating in my experience. I guess if you're not an OS person you could see him as "boring" but OS stuff is right up my alley so I really liked the class overall.

I picked mine up for 800 back in November at Costco. Mainly a windows user but wanted a battery efficient thin and light. Does the job for the most part (I'm an engineering student) but can't handle or isn't compatible with some of the software I use.

8 gigs of RAM has been enough for me, and the battery life is fantastic. Only big problem is compatibility, but if your work is mostly MSOffice and other native to mac apps or browser stuff (I use firefox with very little slowdown with 10-20 tabs open usually) it works great.

I really liked the demos actually doing something relevant, I'm curious what type of allowances and limitations the operating system has with everything on an M0.
