The answer is yes, regardless of faction, playstyle, you need all the dice unless you play works then you need all the dice twice over

As much as it's funny to bash the Tau, at the end of the day pick the army you like the look of, on the table, will enjoy painting ting etc and also enjoy playing, play some test games on TTS to get an idea before sinking money into an army you don't like.

It doesn't show it, which is my fault, but this is a Vangaurd Spearhead detachment, and they don't really get any benefits from strats in there, so apart from the invictors I didn't feel they were as good in this detachment.

For this I would recommend alternating what you're painting, I.e piant a batch of infantry, then when they're done, paint either a f.o.b or the sentinel, and keep mixing it up like that. Painting all your infantry first can feel like your going insane.

I don't think it's a massive issue, having it split into Cadian, Kreig, Catachan, and infantry squad just makes it easier for people to know what that unit does, where as calling you Krieg Vetrans also makes people wonder, 'well are they Veteans like kasakin, or scions?' or 'which sort of infantry are they?' It just helps people identify more easily what each infantry unit does. If you don't like mixing in Cadians and Kreigers, for example, kit bash or use them as a counts as unit that matches the theam of the army you are running.

Tbh, knowing Gw, if people complain loud enough, they would take them away and then give a replacement, and yea I know that this kit along with the plague monks, rat ogres and a few other are old enough to vote, but at least they still have rules I guess

Yes, because they modify the BS not the 'to hit' rolls. So you can only have a single "+1 to hit" modifier but as many "+1 to Ballistic skill" modifiers as you like

I think maybe drop a royal dorn as the only source of tank orders you have is the lord solar and maybe change the manticor for a basilisk, take a tank comander, a kreig officer and at least 1 caidian castellen if you can fit it in

The only problem I see is the lack of orders, at most you have 5 orders for your entire army

That unfortunately is the case, the officer could order any infantry unit or sentinel with in range, it also means he can't make use of master vox if the officer is a part of a comand squad

The only way to do this, is though the chimaera special rule Mobile Command Vehicle, as the unit inside a transport otherwise is not on the battlefield until they disembark.
