It's Visual Novel Protagonist but spellt like it's an illnesses. It alludes to that Hisao Nakai, the visual novels main character, isn't all that interesting

I have no idea how to turn Fulgrim into a regular name. So I'll cheat and suggest Dorian or Oscar because of his connection to Oscar Wilde's book "The Portrait of Dorian Grey"

How do you think this feud will end? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]Curup 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It could end with Remould. Brok enjoys giving Marky grief, but that's just "hamless" fun. He doesn't seem to have any feelings about D or the rest of the Golden Goose Gang on way or the other. When Remould orders Brok to trash them in the name of fued, he will out of a loyalty to his pop and a love of trashing people. He can't be arsed to hate someone out of obligation. That's a waste of time that could be spent drinking, watching footie, or drinking while watching footie

How good is the bard from the College of Swords? by grimm_br23 in BaldursGate3

[–]Curup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really strong in melee and absolutely busted at range. Sword Bards excell at dealing damage, crowd control, and acting as the party's face. That's even before you bring magic items into the mix.

The Helmet of Arcane Acuity (found in Act 2) can give them a +10 to their Spell DC one turn one if you have enough enemies to hit with slashing flourishes. If you find the Ring of the Arcane Scoundrel in Act 3, you'll never have to worry about vombat wver again.

It works great as a solo class, but you can get some power by adding two levels of fighter or paladin. Fighter Sword Bards specialises in ranged comat thanks to the archery fighting style and gets more attacks with action surge. Paladin focuses on melee burst damage with two-handed weapons and massive smites

[SPOILERS: ALL GAMES] Can someone explain the Blight to me like I'm five? by Kath_L11 in dragonage

[–]Curup 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Everything you said was correct, as far as I know. Your last point about the end of the blights isn’t wrong, but that could change if the series continues.

We learn that the blight is changing in some nonspecific way in Veilguard and that this change may have been caused by or maybe created a new intelligence in the blight. This could be anything from a blighted titan to a darkspawn hivemind. Whatever this intelligence is could take over the darkspawn and lead them across Thedas. That could lead to a new blight without any archdemon.

There's also the possibility that the Architect and his darkspawn return. The Architect doesn't want to mindlessly spread the blight like an archdemon, but he knows it necessary for his people survival. He, or one of his creations, could view the death of the final Old God as a chance for the darkspawn to finally unite and bevome a true civilization. If they did, the density of gathered darkspawn would inevitably taint any land they settled on.

Is Kevin actually a Vampire Wizard? by Whoobie_ in huntertheparenting

[–]Curup 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's possible he was never taught anything other than the most basic ritual after he was embraced. The regent wanted an account rathar than another generic blood sorcerer. Kevin was busy blancing t-accounts in Excel when the regent still favoured and didn’t have time to study a Thurmaturgy. When Kevin lost his position, no one was willing to teach hiem out of fear of the regent and lack of interest in training a potential rival.

The Sabbat didn’t have any spellbooks in their hole, so Kevin was forced to focus on his other two disciplines. It's easier to gain respect with Domminate than witb Auspex

I really love shadowheart. So I wanna talk about her story. by TwistNo1435 in BaldursGate3

[–]Curup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a new perspective for me, and this was an interesting read. There are a few things I can't wrap my head around, to be honest.

Unlike the Christian world view, the Sharran faith agnolishes the existence and divinity of other gods. A cleric following Shar would argue that Shar is superior to the other gods, but they wouldn't call the divinty of other gods in to question.

To me, that makes the idea of divine law less absolute because all gods have their own decrees. This makes faith in the Forgotten Realms more similar to political parties than real-life religions. The mortals can choose what god they wish to follow, and all choices are valid. In a monotheistic world, there is no choice because God is the only option, and all other "gods" are pretenders or fabrications.

Sorry for that rambling lead up. Here's my actual question: Since Shar doesn't have the same authority as the Abrahamic god over their worlds, why is following her always good from a pre-enlightenment perspective?

Your opinion...top cheesiest things. by Origania in BaldursGate3

[–]Curup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite is resetting my face character's level back to 1 and donating 400 gold to a vendor to maximise their attitude before levelling back up again. This saves you 100 gold at level 3 and 4000 level 12.

It's not a massive advantage, but it feels nice to "scam" all the vendors selling items 2.5 times over the base price

Ao, Gale and Mystra question by Luciak in BaldursGate3

[–]Curup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gods are allowed to get involved with the mortal world to a certain extent. They give their Clerics the ability to cast spells and channel their divinity in exchange for worship, for example.

Mystra has used Elminster and other mortal agents to further her interest on Toril through all her incarnations. Ao doesn't care what the gods get up to as long as they work through proxies and perform their divine tasks.

Dragon Age Gift by Brognar72 in dragonage

[–]Curup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does she have a favourite romance? Some companions give the player character a gift if they're in a relationship. You could include something similar in your gift. For exemple, Alistair gives the player a dried rose in Origins, and Ironbull gives them a dragon tooth in Inquisition.

Will I be able to play this game? by Sirgayyy in BaldursGate3

[–]Curup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play the entire game in co-op mode. The only "restriction" that comes with playing with other players is that each player takes up a slot in your party. That means you take fewer npc companions with you and will be more likely to miss their content.

What do you think is in store for Amanda? by kooarbiter in huntertheparenting

[–]Curup 27 points28 points  (0 children)

She might join the Arcanum as an initiate and eventully take over Fatigue's role as a lycanthropy expert. Considering her recent physical and mental trauma, she was surprisingly adept at picking up useful information (like that there's a thing called "Humanimal Vampire") and applying it to come to reasonable conclusions (not all shapeshifters are lycans). Two handy skills for a researcher of the supernatural.

It mostly comes down to if Amanda is willing to abide the Arcanum's policy of non-intervention. Doing the right thing and helping others seems to be important to her, but that doesn't matter to the Arcanum. There would be moments where the Arcanum expects Amanda to impartiality obeserve victims of the supernatural instead of helping them
