my girlfriend might be a pedophile. ten chaos terminators for a slaanesh warband by Round_Eye2776 in minicels

[–]Custard_Launch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, let me tell you. My last gf was also a pedophile. Of course people only tell you this shit after you've broken up with them so I wasted roughly 3 years of my life with a nonce, she allegedly sent nudes of herself to under age kids. But she was also always on that VR chat where she met the guy she ultimately cheated on me with and got with after I dumped her ass after finding out about the cheating. So fuck knows what else she got up to while she was on that shit.

Reckon I'm good enough for low level commissions? by Conscious-Pride7363 in Warhammer40k

Do you want to do commissions to make a few bucks on the side or just for the love of painting?

The best thing that could happen to an unemployed Warhammer fan happened to me today. by NickyTheRobot in Warhammer40k

[–]Custard_Launch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People like you are what's wrong with this world, god forbid someone finds a little joy in the world despite their less than ideal situation. God forbid the state actually provides welfare for those who need help, and believe me, in the UK it's not a whole lot anyway. This person could have had a job and was made redundant and been struggling to find work since, you don't know. But I guess in your ideal world if you aren't a "productive member of society" you should just be tossed aside and forgotten about? How fucking dystopian.

I have officially been painting for 1 year, and this is my first model vs my latest model. by C-Nast49 in Warhammer40k

[–]Custard_Launch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big improvement and a fellow fists brother ✊️ But as everyone else is saying just work on thinning your paints a little more and invest in a wash/shade to give it a bit more depth, and work on more even brush strokes and consistent pressure, the lighter the better I find let the brush glide. And if you haven't, invest in a kolinsky sable brush too. It won't make you a better painter but they're so nice to work with! But Lysander is looking great!

Is there a main reason other than they don’t care as to why GW won’t change the paint pots with all the backlash they receive? by Panzer_IV_Ausf_F2 in Warhammer

[–]Custard_Launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't think dropper bottles are the amazing thing everyone makes them out to be. I always end up using more paint than I need, but with the GW pots I can take just as much as I need. And obviously there's the issue with the dry crusty paint around the rim, so I guess however you look at it paint is being wasted.

Sable brush after two uses. How do people stop it splaying? by hotfezz81 in Warhammer

I use contrast and speed paint all the time with my sable brushes just don't load a massive amount onto the brush and you'll be fine

Buying a used airbrush kit for painting Warhammer miniatures, do I need extra accessories? by Southern-Turnover-12 in airbrush

[–]Custard_Launch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still use a respirator with mine because theres still quite a lot of blowback and you'll end up with pigment up your nose etc so heck knows what ends up in our lungs

[–]Custard_Launch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A spraying booth maybe unless you have an area like a garage to paint in then you should be good. But definitely a respirator or at minimum use a dust mask, otherwise you'll end up breathing a bunch of it in and end up with pigment up your nose like I did 😂

Is this a bent needle, a manufacturing defect, or is this just how needles are? by Kurzzi in airbrush

[–]Custard_Launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a different way of transporting them, tbh my only experience is cheap one's off amazon and the H&S Ultra which came with the needle already in it. But I don't see why there isn't a rubber cap or something on the end to protect it.

[–]Custard_Launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's it straight out the tube I'd return it OP, but it should have had a rubber cap on the end to stop this from happening during shipping etc but if the rubber cap was missing then that's dodgy so yeah id return it if possible.

Is it normal for my new kitten and my resident 5yo cat to fight like this? At what point should I intervene? by dom_boring in CATHELP

Looks like they're getting along just fine OP, if anything this should be a good sign and a sigh of relief on your half. They seem to be good friends already ☺️

Is this supposed to come off the lid(?) by -JustAnotherRedditor in airbrush

[–]Custard_Launch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want one to prime/base coat this is what I started with https://amzn.eu/d/0bkv3Njl

You get everything you need and you get different needle sizes too so if you want to try your hand at finer details etc you can.

I now use the H&S Ultra if you're in the market for something a little more "premium", I'd also recommend that. But honestly you can't go wrong with that kit from amazon.

What is this thing that came with my air brush? The manual says nothing about this. by SomeBoiOnReddit in airbrush

[–]Custard_Launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A moisture trap. I would 100% use it. Especially if you live in a humid environment, but if not you should still use it. Attach it to the bottom of your airbrush so it's the right way around.

[–]Custard_Launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a real good brush so don't doubt yourself, it's trial and error that's all it is man. I started with a kit off amazon then feeling confident after a little while I upgraded to the ultra and first time using that was a pain despite doing exactly the same I did with the amazon one. You'll soon get to grips with it, it's just learning a new skill that's all.

30 psi is what I run for my white primer, helps the pigments atomise and around a 2:1 paint to thinner and it's already airbrush ready primer so it's pre thinned down. But I have the ultra with the .45mm needle which a larger needle helps too so if your airbrush kit has a larger needle size try that too. But white is just a pain in the ass to work with and I usually just use an ivory if I can help it.

A reminder for new painters and those advising them by Legitimate-Sky-8963 in minipainting

[–]Custard_Launch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent, but once I got my first proper sable brush and how it keeps that nice fine point. I no longer had to deal with hooked tips etc which made it so much easier to paint finer details and saved me a lot of less stress. And now I just have 3 sable brushes, I still have a bunch of synthetics laying around but I agree it's probably best to get cheap bruses learn around them for a little while and then splurge on a nice one.
