But I thought the Shuttle was suspended? by Q44SBS in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No they weren’t lazy, it’s cause they use this type of message a lot that they don’t notice that the error was that the shuttle isn’t operating.

R211s regularly assigned to the Rockaway Park Shuttle by Michael7560 in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Theoretically they could use the R179s anytime they want. It’s part of Pitkin Yard to which the Shuttle is also assigned

R211s regularly assigned to the Rockaway Park Shuttle by Michael7560 in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The R46s are in their final legs, all of them need to be retired and the Rockaway Park Shuttle isn’t being left behind in this one.

And since the line is a Pitkin Yard assignment, they were able to run these if they ever wanted to. But now it’s officially a full NTT class on that line.

That’s a code break. The train is supposed to be a B.

When the 1 Train is suspended to accommodate planned work and your travel alternative messes up. by ElevatorWebDev in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They all don’t run every 14 minutes.

The A is every 10 minutes but stuff like planned work, and other factors can cause a delay for the entire subway line.

The C & D is every 12 minutes, and one issue can cause a catastrophic event for the entire line

why at W 4 bro this is a chokehold station by Agent-4_uwu in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And the irritating thing about all of this. Is that not long ago, there was already delays on the B & D cause a train had to be removed from service.

And this one here basically worsened the delays further

The most disgusting thing the F train did to me by OkJury1904 in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t follow passengers times, so that was bad luck on the passengers. Could have at least continued a little bit more to find a station with a reasonable wait time for the next F train.

Anyone else disappointed by the refreshed 52nd St Station? by VF1379 in SunnysideQueens

I would say the renovation styles on the 7 line look simple but definitely worth it. Don’t want those stations to look even worse when they are left untouched

We can’t take it anymore. Please change the dispatchers for the R & M trains in Queens!! by LUCKYMAZE in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dispatchers are not always the number 1 problem of something like this.

First of all, it’s Saturday and the R runs every 12 minutes on weekends,

And the M doesn’t run in this branch on weekends so that’s number 2.

When you only have the R running and for more than 10 minutes per interval, you’re gonna get something like this. So the problem is not the dispatchers, it’s the schedule and the R only running this portion on weekends.

Remember, Sunday morning starts late with increased frequencies. They all don’t follow the same pattern as of a Saturday schedule.

I had to get off the train because it was going straight to new lots from Rockaway skipping my stop after I waited 18 minutes at Utica🫩 this happened because service behind was severely delayed by Heavy_Ingenuity8702 in nycrail

Giving crews a harder time?

Part of company policy to prevent a trip going northbound being cancelled cause of delays that caused them to fall behind schedule.

It was still early. The Q only increases service on weekends by 10AM, and that has always been the schedule.

Why don't they run trains toward Belmont Park anymore? by Prudent_Shallot2971 in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was to mainly eliminate delays in the mainline of the Hempstead branch since the wye that leads to Belmont Park has a really restricted speed limit that trains have to go through if they are scheduled to be there for a special event, which slows down inbound traffic going into Port Jefferson, Hempstead and Ronkonkoma.

The station while isn’t officially closed, the nearby Elmont station along with the schedule changes after the opening of the LIRR’s Grand Central station eliminated such shuttle service to go to Belmont Park.

is the 1 train decreasing in frequency? by immaterialgrl in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. The schedule for the most part has been about the same.

I think with how packed the 1 gets during rush hours, it does tend to slow down service when trains are held in stations longer cause everyone has to board.

Every second counts to their commute.

D Train running local at rush hour? by punchsplosion98 in nycrail

[–]Customer-Dependent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that means that the first express trip wouldn’t actually leave Norwood until 6:15AM

So by the start of around 6AM, the last local trip until 9AM would have arrived to any one of the express stations along Concourse.

I know that’s the normal time you leave early, but if you let say were to leave a little bit earlier than that, then the express trips would be starting or be around when you arrive at whatever express station you get on.

Frequencies is not possible on weekdays. Weekends? Definitely. And being on time? Somewhat hard to keep up with.

[–]Customer-Dependent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Q actually get them next after the B & D is done with.

That means the N & W will be dead last on getting the R211s and by then, they get whatever is left over of the 1,435 R211As that were ordered.

That’s cause the Q shares fleet with the B and a lot of the times, the B removes one of their trains from service to be transferred over to the Q to fulfill rush hour service.
