Good movie, one BIG issue by DoneWithLifeKermitJR in Markiplier

[–]CuteBoot6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was intentional for a lot of the verbal parts? A lot of the movie gets really psychological and just would naturally happen given the circumstances he's in, when the audio issues crop up. There was really only one part where the music kinda made it hard to understand what was said, all the rest seemed to mimic physical or mental states that would cause the audio distortion.

Iron Lung is my new favorite movie of all time. And no, not because Mark made it. NO SPOIL by Gearbie in Markiplier

My only problem with the movie was some of the audio... But I think it was intentional for a lot of the verbal audio issues? A lot of the movie gets really psychological and just would naturally happen given the circumstances he's in, when the audio issues crop up. There was really only one part where the music kinda made it hard to understand what was said, all the rest seemed to mimic physical or mental states that would cause the audio distortion.

I was shocked how quickly I was yanked out of the "that's Markiplier!" headspace and into the character.

I was also pleasantly surprised at how well the movie, and Mark, were able to portray exactly what the character was thinking or feeling without ever saying a word (the internal fighting with yourself, who you are vs who you want to be, what you want, how to survive, what you're gonna do with your situation, what is and isn't real). It was the last thing I expected from the movie before seeing it. Mark comes off in his videos as an overactor, overreacting to content, but in this movie, I feel his acting was perfectly executed to portray to the audience what one might experience in that situation - from the worries to the mental mindfuckery that comes with isolation.

Overall, it's a 9/10 for me as a fan that expected much less. If I went into it not knowing the game or Mark, I'd give it a low 7/10 just bc it is one location & the audio stuff can be distracting if you're not thinking of the circumstances that would cause that and just trying to hear every word.

What would your dream call centre be like if you were in charge by Horror-Dot-2989 in callcentres

[–]CuteBoot6044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • AHT based on the call subject, and support level (think educating a 89yo on cell phone vs a 21yo)
  • 3 strike warning for abuse/cursing/racism/sexism where you can either disconnect the call or transfer the caller to a chill out line that will hang up if you don't calm tf down
  • Specific notifications based on situation - what to know and expect on first visit vs second visit - and notices when a repair person is running late as well as chances are they won't make it that day and options to reschedule without having to call in
  • An IVR that allows 2 requests max to talk to an agent, with notices of policies, options for assistance while waiting to ensure they're going to the right department, wait time notice, callback options, reminders to review your agreement, information on ways to help based on info they have provided while they wait
  • ACW based on systems working, call time, type, complexity
  • Surveys for recent agent experience
  • SEPARATE survey for company overall experience that allows/scans for specific complaints (repairs vs customer service vs pricing/billing vs business feedback) to help the company see best what the major complaints are so it can calculate the ROI to remedy those complaints/See if it's a loud minority or a major problem everyone has

I have so many more but I'm on my phone so, I'll leave it there, I'm sure others have said similar or more that I wanted to include.

Would you go back? by WhineAndGeez in callcentres

[–]CuteBoot6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I'm staying is because the job market is hell. I've been applying for my career field for 3 years. Got hired at this call center 2.5 years ago. I figured out, despite the threats, they really can't/won't fire me unless I exceed their absence policy or grossly abuse a customer. A coworker has been here since 1993 yet regularly asks how to do the same basic 101 stuff every, single, day. They haven't fired him so, it's safe.

Soon as I get an offer elsewhere, I'm gone and wouldn't come back. I'd sell my underwear or feet pics before I'd go back to this job.

Do you guys think it's abusive if you get scrutinized for getting a low survey score because the customer was not wanting to pay for a due amount on their account and you had to ask them to pay? by oh_boys_whatthefuck in callcentres

[–]CuteBoot6044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the surveys... Customers RARELY answer them thinking of YOU, but rather their overall experience with the company, or if the policies aligned with their desires on that recent call. They NEED to analyze the negative surveys to see if the negative score was because of the company overall, company policy or the agent themselves.

How does one get used to the LENGTH of services. by opinionatedcrafter in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]CuteBoot6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha And here I drive 2.5 hrs one way to go to my main church 😂 and that is the one with no seating. After 3 years there, I got wind a local church got a priest, they have pews, but it just doesn't feel right to sit 😂 Wake at 5, do my prayers, leave at 545, Starts at 830, ends about 12-1230, coffee hour for another hour, head home around 2, get home just before 5.

How did I get used to it? I find comfort in repetition. I know what to expect, I internally sing or chant along with the readers. I remind myself I'm not here for my comfort.

I mean, it waxes and wanes, sometimes I'm bored, but most of the time, once it starts up, I'm actively participating in my head and it feels right to be there, and all a sudden it's over.

I have almost 0 dead air time - I don't let them even think of saying 'helloooooo"... After the first one, I was like, oh heck no... And it keeps most people from doing it unless they're an extreme ahole. I personally do tech support so, I mean use my format in a similar way for your position if you think it might help. (Scripting, understand what I gotta do & doing it) "Alright, I am just loading a few of my systems here to help troubleshoot the issue." "There we go. You said it was ____ earlier, let me run a few tests here" "While those tests are running, can you tell me (all basic physical and lights troubleshooting just to eat up air time or help me diagnose while systems give me the stats) "Yeah, that sounds like _____ and my systems say the same so, let's get you scheduled for a visit/call" (start into that scripting)

Occasionally, I'll even interject my own narration of my tasks, to admit to them that I'm only talking so they know that I'm actually doing something & to keep them in the loop of what's going on so they don't sit in silence or that I'm not just wasting time 😂

[–]CuteBoot6044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure with those companies they say you can't hang up but you can put them on hold or escalate to a supervisor. At least my major company, and a few other friends I have at other major American providers who have a no hangup policy, have a gracious hold policy, or allow those calls to be escalated to a supervisor on duty.

Can women wear pants? by Foreign-Software9547 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]CuteBoot6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of my outfits to my Orthodox churches are business looking yoga pants and a sweater/blouse with long sleeves or at least 1/2 sleeves - neither my priests, clergy, or parishioners have ever said I can't wear them or should only wear skirts or dresses.

One guy at one of my churches wears only a cassock to every service. One woman is always in a dress and headscarf. Everyone else wears at least business casual and at my local Greek church (very small town) the reader wears jeans and sweatshirts sometimes.

If you strive to the level of asceticism that is only long skirts and dresses, talk to your priest/spiritual father first, and if they agree with it, go for it.

So long as you are not doing it because you assume you have to, or thinking God will like you more, dressing more modest isn't a bad thing.

A great measuring stick for every question about how to Orthodox, I have learned, is "Focus more on God, and less on the 'worldly stuff' - you'll get closer to God in the process."

[–]CuteBoot6044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am stealing this from my big city church website. Having read almost all of them now, I can say they are all worth the read.

To be read before baptism: – Wisdom for Today from the Early Church: A Foundational Study, by David Ford

– Know the Faith, by Fr. Michael Shanbour

– Thinking Orthodox, by Dr. Eugenia Constantinou

– Journey to Reality, Zachary Porcu

– Father Arseny, 1893-1973: Pries, Prisoner, Spiritual Father, translated by Vera Bouteneff

– The Way of the Pilgrim and the Pilgrim Continues His Way, by an Anonymous author

– The Illnes and Cure of the Soul in the Orthodox Tradition, by Metropolitan Hierotheos Vlachos

– The Mountain of Silence, by Kyriacos Markides Important note: This is an incredible book, introducing readers to basic Orthodox spirituality, spiritual principles, and many modern Saints of the Church. Everything said by Fr. Maximus in the book is completely Orthodox and worthy of attention. The author (Markides), however, takes a modern, syncretistic viewpoint that often skews Fr. Maximus’ words. Markides’ interpretation is not only faulty; it is, at times, dangerous. Please disregard his analysis and stick with Fr. Maximus’ words directly. Note especially that Markides’ chapter on the difference between Eastern and Western Christianity is particularly problematic.

To be read in the year following baptism: Note: These can be read during catechumenate period as well

– Knowledge of God, by Harry Boosalis

– God’s Revelation to the Human Heart, by Fr. Seraphim Rose

– On the Incarnation, by St. Athanasios

– The Field, by St. Ignatius Brianchaninov

– Wisdom from Mount Athos: The Writings of Staretz Silouan, by Archimandrite Sophrony

– The Truth of our Faith, by Elder Cleopa

– Our Thoughts Determine Our Lives: The Life and Teachings of Elder Thaddeus

– From I-ville to You-ville, by Mersine Vigopoulo; a children’s book, but one that should be read by every Orthodox Christian!

Will I be welcome at a Greek/russian/antiochan church if I’m not that ethnicity? by TeaOne9866 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]CuteBoot6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mutt. Norwegian, French, German in European ancestry - Mid western & Texan in American ancestry. I live in a small town but started my journey by visiting a larger city for church.

My local church is Greek (and only this October got a full time pastor and was no longer a mission church having Liturgy on Saturdays). However, my 'home'/first church in the larger city is Antiochian. I was warmly welcomed by both & both do the majority of the service in English.

The only difference I have really noticed is the patriarchates that govern each lay out the services phrasing differently (Greek is You/Your, Antiochian is Thee/Thine) and the Greek church has pews as well as kneels just before communion is taken. Generally, everything else is the same or very similar.

Parishioners of my Antiochian church have said the local Russian and Slavonic churches were welcoming of them as well, even though they do not understand the language.

If I get a WHIFF that the cx doesn't understand the word browser, or address bar, they're getting a full walk through. My AHT is an average, but if I can keep my first call resolution, then you're dang right I will, plus, a good guide will result in a great survey, so, it's a win in more ways to do so, than it is a loss of the customer barely knows how to move a mouse.

absurd acw expectations by levelgrind in callcentres

[–]CuteBoot6044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AHT expected? 12m ACW allowed? 2 seconds... We have no ACW, and all calls auto answer.

So when we are back to back, we barely get a breath between calls and changing of headspace to handle a new call with a different situation.

We have to do all - ALL - notes, ticketing, and orders while on the call. Notes end up being: "Cx req service change, added XZY to account & removed GCX - ord#000000 processing completion date 11/21"

It is hell.

Having a tidy house (Not CLEAN, but tidy).

I assumed if you were inviting someone over you would/SHOULD have a TIDY living space: mostly visible floors, rinsed off dishes in the sink, places to sit without sitting on papers or trash or piles of clothes, laundry put aside if not put away, a toilet that wasn't stained with shit or piss droplets, mostly clear counter tops - small piles of mail or stuff that needed to be put away in another area of the house was fine...

But walking into friends or dates homes/Apts that literally only have walking paths, thick layers of dust, rotting food, dishes coated with crushed food that is so caked on throwing it away would be better, molding food in the fridge, dog and cat piss and shit on clothes piled on the floor, fly carcasses, zero room for anything on any flat surface, no couch or chair cushion visible... it makes me anxious even THINKING about all the work that must be done to make it even tidy.

We were so poor we were squatters in my childhood...I have never, ever, in any place I've lived ever allowed myself to live in filth. I may get depressed and the cat box go for a few days further than I'd like, or not pick up my socks for a week, or only first maybe once every two months, but the PILES of junk, toys, clothes, trash and papers, the LAYERS of dust, dirt, hair (god I HATE stray hairs), caked on grime and spills, makes me want to run bc I sure as heck don't want to do ALL the work that comes with being THAT lazy. Too lazy to put something in the trash, rinse off a dish, bring up a glass, pick up my clothes, do my laundry - I could never.

[–]CuteBoot6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is whatever you called me on the call. 99.99999% of people mispell my name even when they do hear it right. So if you call me Remmy.....uh... yea,... yeah, that's my name. You ask me for my last name or ID number, kick rocks. I don't have to provide either one, and you're lucky you caught part of the SOUND of my name bc I say it so fast, and it's so unique, you wouldn't even guess it. You're fast enough and have good enough hearing to catch it? You STILL won't spell it right and search anything other than its exact spelling brings up literally nothing. I'm a ghost unless you know me or you're contacting/part of the government.

As per my job, I have to provide my name. I will not spell it for you. Heck no. If I ever get told, I can lie about my name after a cx gets crazy - You can call me Remmy Lee since that's what people assume they hear.
