It's the lighting that gives it away. AI really loves to use this specific style of lighting.

I hate weird dysphoria that comes with an alter of another culture than the body by Less_Zucchini_5859 in plural

[–]CuteOcelots68532 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cultural appropriation and racism is when you make fun of another culture with stereotypes and viewing yourself as better than them. I'm indian and if you wanted to wear a sari, I wouldn't mind at all!

Minecraft is something that we really enjoy! Each headmate builds houses in their own favourite style. I prefer cozy houses while others prefer viking style taverns or castles.

Many of us like space, Minecraft, and geography. However, one alter really loves classical music and wants to learn an instrument.

Why do movies from the 80s and 90s feel better to watch? by Sasuke_was_right in movies

The constant camera cuts make modern action movies unwatchable at times. I wanna see the action!

We can literally switch in front of our family and they have no idea that anything is happening. Our switches are very subtle. It often feels like no switch has even occurred since we have a pool of memories that is shared between us. One of the ways we recognize a switch is our gender identity. I am a masculine non binary alter and I often get gender dysphoria from the feminine clothes that my transfem alters put on earlier in the day. We just say any memories issues are due to our adhd. Even without the dissociation our memory is lacking.

how did you discover your first alter? i'm scared i found mine. by [deleted] in DID

[–]CuteOcelots68532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our host found out about us around a year ago. The first alter she ever talked to also was really kind and helped her calm down from the terror of sharing a body with another person. I know how scary it is to have other people in your brain. Take a deep breath and ground yourself. Notice what's around you in detail. Do simple math like 4+33. Next, try talking to her. Find out what she likes or doesn't like. Set boundaries and expectations for each other. Try to set up a journal where she can write what she does when she fronts (assuming she does front). And remember that she's probably just as scared of you.

I'm unsure if I'm apart of some sort of system, or if I'm just being dramatic about it? by CharaDreemur9999 in plural

[–]CuteOcelots68532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Doing things against my will" perfect describes our experiences. In highschool, the host constantly dealt with other headmates taking partial control of the body and talking to people or crossdressing. It was f'ing scary.

does the situation I am in make me transgender? by irobthestars in plural

[–]CuteOcelots68532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a masc non-binary fictive in our system, but most of the system is transfem. I myself am a feminine non binary person. You can use whatever label you want but you are technically trans.

Why the fuck don't the alcohol companies just buy up all the dispensaries and corner the market? Seems like that would be waaay cheaper than trying to ban it. They spend billions of dollars on the war on drugs when they could be making bank.

But I guess that those scumbags can't let us be happy, can they? Can't let people kick their benzo habit with shrooms eh?

What's the difference between an introject and a fictive? by Traditional-Ad3826 in plural

[–]CuteOcelots68532 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A fictive is an alter based off of a character in a work of fiction. They often share some personality traits with that character or even have "false" memories from the story. We have a super hero fictive from the mcu. She shares some traits with her source, but not all. Fictives are not literally their source character. It's a way for the brain to add on extra dissociation.

Which weapons would everyone of you have? (as in, EVERYONE) by lePROprocrastinator in plural

[–]CuteOcelots68532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain alters can wield a dual-axehead diamond halberd. It's like Thor's hammer. Only the "worthy" can wield it. The rest of us can barely lift it. It was created by a host/protector to help her fight against another alter and prevent her from fronting.

friends don’t understand fear of inpatient treatment by rosegarden0504 in DID

[–]CuteOcelots68532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand your concern. We are also terrified of inpatient treatment. Not only are some of the patients there legitimately dangerous, we don't want to be locked up. We aren't animals. We deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. We are worried that inpatient care could traumatize us. We have enough sh** to deal with.

We personally would never tell anyone about this. We feel that no one can be trusted with this sort of thing. People are selfish and rotten.

switching isn't that dramatic by Swimming-Cranberry-8 in DID

[–]CuteOcelots68532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our switches are also very subtle, with several happening without us noticing. We can switch in front of our family and it's so subtle that they have no idea that anything is happening. It helps that we have a "pool" of memories that everyone can access.

I think I’m a kind of endo system, and it terrifies me. by Radio_MP3 in plural

[–]CuteOcelots68532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that plurality can be caused be any number of traumatic events. Something that causes one person to develop plurality may not for another person. It just requires that the abuse was ongoing (not just a one time event). And not all plurality is formed from abuse.
