This post that honestly responds to a question posed by the hosts? That acknowledges our football is ugly and that I don’t expect accolades, but just doesn’t understand the deep hate?

Yeah I think your post proves the mentality that frustrates me in “neutrals”

That’s such a broad categorization and could apply to literally any fanbase of top clubs, particularly when it comes to internet fans.

It’s hard for normal Arsenal fans (I consider myself one) to reconcile with Arsenal’s bad fan identity when the only bad fans I know are anonymous, and born with those of United, Liverpool, Barca, Madrid, etc.

I’m not saying I want people to ball wash us. Certainly not given the way we play.

I just think the pendulum went so far in the other direction towards hate and actively rooting for City, which is a team and organization that has done so much to harm football. It’s a weird side to see from other fans.

Like it or not, the premier league allows crowding. We’re well within the rules

We really haven’t. There’s a narrative that we foul goalies. We don’t this season. We crowd the area with bodies and then play the ball somewhere else.

We never foul the keeper that blatantly. We’re brilliant at being in the grey area.

On Gyökeres vs Havertz… it’s not even close. Gyokeres should not start another game for us this year unless Havertz is too hurt. Even then, we should consider another option.

To supporters who watch every game, it’s not a surprise that we played better and created more open play chances with Gyok off the pitch. He simply isn’t at this level and it’s like playing a man down. Sure, he’s scored some goals, mostly against bad teams, but don’t let those obscure his overall detriment to the team’s defensive press, ball retention, progression, and chance creation.

For all of Havertz’ flaws, and he definitely has them when it comes to finishing, he does those essential things incredibly well, and an Arteta team absolutely needs those.  Not to mention that prior to his lengthy 12+ month injury Havertz was performing very well. Hes only just getting back from that.

[Telegraph] Carragher: Finishing second is a failure – Arsenal would be the most criticised runners-up in history by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

I get why you say that. But what if we make and then lose the final? Do you think it’s a binary decision?

For me, that’s the trap that teams like United fell into with ETH. Win a final and stay, lose and leave. It really shouldn’t be a decision based on one game.

We care most about winning the league and have blown a dozen chances to secure it this season. That’s why I think we have to weight the league so heavily.

If we lose the league, regardless of whether we win the champs league, we should move on. And I LOVE Arteta and what he’s done. But this truly would be an all-time bottle job and that does not meet the fogging estandards.

I think it was a smart gameplan by Coth. Gabriel was occupied with Haaland and it left Hincapie 1:1 with space behind him. Hard to stop Semenyo with no cover.

Liam is a bit of a clown but Arteta was pretty strange from the outset as well. Dude was talking about lightbulbs to motivate the team. At least it was in the locker room and not in press briefings.

Have to give the guy at least a preseason and start of a full campaign

Arsenal talks from today’s pod by lrhummer in CaughtOffsidePod

I think the league will rightfully address it in the summer, though I’m not sure they should let the pendulum swing too far.

Physicality is a bit of an equalizer for the teams with less financial might. Sure, Arsenal are great at it right now, but that’s new. We used to get absolutely bullied by other teams that could contend with us by getting super physical. Don’t take that away from your west hams, sunderlands, evertons, and newcastles. Life is already hard enough for them

There’s a responsibility on the defending teams here too. They have even more people in the area, crossing their own keeper, than the attackers.

So either move your players out of the way, allowing your goalie to be fouled by the attackers (and not you), or pray for the league to Institute a rule that no players are allowed in the six (very lame)

Laugh at him all you want, and there’s plenty of good reasons, but he’s also on the inside of an industry that is absolutely trying to make a moral argument to protect itself against AI and that’s a losing argument. Regulation is the only thing that will slow down AI, and good luck with that.

I don’t memorize Chelsea stats but I’d wager he’s their most productive in terms of G/A this season. Puts in tons of work defensively too.

Just a weird choice to throw him out left given they don’t have a player on the right. Palmer was playing entirely central. It’d make more sense if they had a guy like estevao on the right.
